Was recently fixing another problem on my truck, and after the fix, my turn signals are no longer working. Dont know what I could have messed up working under the hood, but I had to have done something. Is there somethings that I can check first to try and trouble shoot?

Second, I noticed that my oil has been getting low slowly over time. The oil pan underneath the truck is fairly saturated around the seals, but it doesnt look wet if that makes sense. Higher up however I have noticed that there is leakage above the fuel filter, and that oil looks wet or more fresh. When under the truck looking up at the fuel filter there is a plug with wires going into and a rubber boot plugged into the engine. The leak seems to be originating from this area. Unplugged the wire and put back on making sure the boot was snug. Haynes manual not really clear in this area or troubleshooting a leak. 1984 four cylinder engine.

appreciate your help! :chuckle:

could be a failure in the hazard switch (located on top of steering columb). i had the same problem (except no hazards). if you look at the wiring diagram it shows that for your turns to work there must be a connection in the switch between the green and green-white wires when hazzards are off, and vise-versa when hazards are on, its a simple part to replace and prolly very easy to come across at a pick n pull. if you need them immediatly (or like me am just lazy) try just connecting the green green-white wires on the connector of the hazzard switch. if this doesnt fix your problem check your hazzard and blinker relays under the steering columb they are fairly easy to find. if all this is to no avail and all your bulbs, combo lamps are good then your just gonna need a long day with a multimeter to root out the problem, best of luck.

My oil leak was from a bad Oil Pressure Switch. The link below describes the DIY repair. If this solves the problem, let me know.

The switch on the column needs servicing. Its easy to scrap clean and reinstall. Remove thew steering wheel, there is a clamp secured by a phillips head screw behind the wiper and light switch, slacken and remove the switch. Phillips head screws hold the switches together remove the side thats necessary dismantle the switch. the brass contactors remove easily, clean with 1200 emery (grit paper) and reassemble the opposite of dismantling. If this does not work then there is a break in the wire some where.

That description on the oil sensor is awesome. The pictures even more so! Thank you! Will be working on that once I get the truck running better.

Just as an update. Fixed the turn signals. Went under the dash and pulled the little combo switch out. Plugged it back in, just so happens I left the signal on, and it started working. Had I not left it on I wouldve never known it was fixed.

Thanks for the help guys!

:chuckle: Your truck likes you. Don't you like it? I had to do all this work to fix mine, man I'm jealous.
