well i got my feed line run and now i need to do the drain line.

1st ? will rubber hose be ok to use if i wrap it in heat tape?

2nd? if i use a 90 deg. elbow to run the hose to, should i put it in the oil pan or the engine block? i saw the SCC mag article they drilled a hole in the block and tapped it. however, i hear most people run it to the pan. is the pan too thin to tap threads into? and if so, is it alum. or steel, because i have a welder i could use if its steel. thanks

Tapping into the pan is the best option, because that way you don't get metal shavings in your engine. Make sure you have your pan off of the engine before drilling, LOL.

That’s why people tap into the oil pan and not the block

Yeppers, just drill a hole in the pan and thread in the fitting. You can weld it up if you like, or simply use JB Weld. They both will work just fine. Oh and rubber hose will work fine as well. Just use decent hose, not some piece of garden hose.

Personally i see welding as the only way to go. I heard of a guy's fitting on the pan coming loose/off and drained all his oil onto the road. bye-bye engine and turbo.

The oil pan is steel. just weld it...It's cheap insurance for your investment.

Just don't cut corners, it's not worth it in the long run.

enjoy
