oil change engine guard removal

Hi: I have a 2008 Versa S, 6 speed, stripped down no gyp job. Runs fine and the fuel mileage is gradually improving. Last tank of 50/50 highway/city got 29mpg. I like to change my own oil but am at a loss on how to remove the plastic engine guard so that I can get at the filter and drain plug. I located the 4 or 5 bolts on the front part of the shield but can't figure out how to detach the rear part of the shield without risking damage to the shield. Any suggestions? Maybe I don't have to remove it? Thanks in advance.

There are some plastic push fasteners that need to come out as well.

I took that plastic piece off about a year ago and it remains off.

I don't have a CAI. Not aftermarket anyway.

Besides, we don't get much cold air in AZ anyway.

...you dont necessarily need cold air...dude trust me the air from there is much nicer than when i had the stock plastic one.

the thing might weigh 3oz.

yeah it may but those 3 oz may add up to a total lb taken off in combo from other parts lol;pppp

do you have a center console, fogs, sub, amp? i know you still have your manifold cover
