Hey people whasssup!!! Finally some Q45 owners. This car is rare in Los Angeles. You can't even find parts anywhere else then the dealership. So if there are any owners from LA then holla. Mine is a 98. I only smoked the taylights and put new exhaust tips for now. The front is still stock. I just saw a Grand Touring grille, so I'm gona put that. Anywayz. Holla!

What's up and welcome! I'm in L.A. too, South Bay. I have a great mechanic, but he's over near LAX, so not sure if that's too far for you.

I live in Glendale, it's next to Burbank. LAX is like 30 minutes away from here without traffic. LOL, there is always traffic on the 110 though. Anyways, if he can hook me up with some parts I would be really interested. BTW, I found this guy who can import different body kits for the Q from Japan. So if you are interested, let me know, i'll tell u his phone #.

Dude, there is no "Y" in Infiniti

But welcome to the site anyhow! And I wouldn't be worried about the miles, as long as service has been done when it should be.

Oh man....sorry *<:-(

Falk, Thanks for the gentle correction.

The reason I am nervous is that I am sales manager for a tech company and needed a good car to take out clients and long trips with the wife as well.

Let me tell the forum, I drove everything in the 10 to 15K used premium sedan market as that was my budget. From Acura RLs to E320s. Ive owned german in the past, but I must say that from the first time I drove a Q (on a recommendation) I kept coming back! Without a doubt, one of the overall best that Ive driven. So when this one came available through my friend, who is the used car manager at the local Worthington Import store, I bought it. He is having a scrape on the rear bumper repaired and running it thorough the shop. I will get her next week.

I am happy to be a member of the forum and I will post my experiences in the future for the benefit of other members.

Sorry for being spelling challenged!

No worries! I know what you mean too, when I first started test driving them, they just fit me so well and impressed me with the quality, fit, power, pretty much everything. I know you'll love it and so will your passengers!

The same happened to me. Although a Nismo fan (OK, Nissan, pure stock American street cars) for years I drifted and did the whole Mitsu-Sushi Eclipse thing for a while, and then went looking for a Nissan again. Damn if I didn't walk into a good deal for this car (excluding the mileage). I drive this Q once and was in 7th heaven when I arranged to buy it 2 weeks later.

I've always loved the styling of the 97-01 Q45s but never really had a chance to drive one. Well a month ago I decided to sell my current car (1999 Nissan Maxima) and looked at various cars. One of which was a 2000 Lexus SC300. After the deal falling through on that car, I came across a 2000 Q45 w/ 64k miles that same night. The next morning I took it for a test drive and within the first 2 minutes, I knew I was buying the car. It handled better than my maxima which was 1000lbs lighter and had firmer struts and springs installed. Picking it up this upcoming monday and can't wait.

That's what I like to hear! People say this isn't a sporty sedan, but it is. Oh yes, it is.

Any sedan that comes with a factory FSTB & RSTB and comes with a VLSD, is sporty. You don't even think about how it weighs 4000lbs when you drive the car. I still felt in complete control.

I traded a 95 Maxima 5 spd. for my 1997 Q45t. I agree that the Q45 suspension and handling are much better compared to the Maxima. The limited suspension travel and rear beam axle on the Maxima made it hard to find a good balance between good handling and ride quality. The Maxima was a blast to drive though, and noticeably faster off the line. But the Q is a far superior car with better suspension, brakes, comfort, and exterior/interior.

Wow! I never read anywhere about how our headlights are electronically adjustable... Just figured that out today. This car is pretty advanced for its time. I test drove a brand new G35 a few weeks ago, and it doesnt have any nice features like this.
