I'm Ryan from Phoenix. Bought this 98 from my pal's mom who had it from the beginning. Lowered on S-techs with 19x9 and 19x10.5 SSR Professor SP-1's and Bridgestone SO3's (235/35 and 275/35. I plan on 12% tint all around, hopefully this week, and painting out the dark grey "sideskirts". Here's a sheisty pic!

Thanks!

Oh, forgot to mention I came from the sr20'd 1998 240sx crew. Put about 30 grand into it and 2 years. Fast but not worth it. I think I am one of the highest ebay sellers for a 240 to date at $17,100!!

Beautiful car.

Were the exhaust mods already on the Q when you purchased it or did you have them done?

Thanks- the car was completely stock when I bought it.

The exhaust was custom done with a custom cut bumper.

Looks very sharp. What suspension do you have?

Ryan, the Q is looking hot, love those wheels.

Thanks Falk.

The suspension is JIC Magic adjustable coilovers, the clear corner were custom done, and the wheels are 19x8-with a 2.25" lip (f) and 19x9.5 with a 3.5" lip (r). I also had the side skirts and stuff painted to match the car. And I took a Stillen intake from the first generations and modified it to fit. The brakes calipers are black, with slotted and cross drilled rotors, and the custom bumper and exhaust as mentioned earlier.

I painted my brake calipers and Brembo OE rotor hats black too. It's been a couple years though, time to touch it up again. One of the next things I'm gonna do is get my lower trim and Stillen lip painted also, it makes the car almost look like it's got a body kit.

Very nice man. I wanted to do an exhaust from the right side too but every single muffler shop told me that there is no room on the right side for the muffler. can you take a pic from underneath the car? where did you fit the muffler. I'm eager to kno.

Also, do you get water in the headlights since they were opened for the reflections?

I had the exhaust shop remove the last two resonators and put magnaflow mufflers in their place. Then run the tips out back. They did cut off the rear tow hook though. But if it gets towed for any reason it will be on a flat bed so I am not worried. It works ideally for what I want. There is a nice rumble during city driving, nothing too loud to confuse...it is a luxury car, and by the time I am do 65+ on the freeway you know they are there but are hardly noticeable.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info. Last question. You know the part of the bumper where the tips come out, the factory cut is inwords. You know the part where the plastic is going back, its bent back, the part surrounding the exhaust tips. I dnt kno if that made sense or no. anywayz, my question is, on the right side of the bumper, when they cut it, how did they make it look like OEM, cuz the plastic is again bent inwards. Hopefully you can figure out what i'm sayin. Thanks.

Umm I think I know what you are talking about. Well I took it to a close friend who owns a body shop, and what they did was they measured and cut the area out and then they molded a rough bend in, and supported it from the rear, and then I think the put bondo on the outside and made the shape perfect, and then painted. I am not exactly sure, but not many people I know could pull that off.

The easier way to do it, is to actually get a wrecked bumper and cut it out from the left side and attach it to your bumper on the right, but we could not find a bumper at the time.

First-time Infiniti owner and new forum visitor checking in: 2001 Q45t; black on black; bone stock (exactly like official pic attached); with Nav and rear shade options (at least I think those are options). Bought with 64k miles on it, for use as my business commuter and trip car (I put 50 to 60k a year on a car). So far, it is what I want in my personal-use car: big, fast, comfortable rear-drive sedan. Bought it to replace my 1990 M-B 560SEL (which still runs great, but 325k on the odo gives me pause when I think about being 500 miles or so from the house these days). Here's hoping that I don't have to visit the forum for maintenance advice very often, since I do all the wrenching on the cars we have and I haven't had a Japanese car for almost 20 years. In addition to the Mercedes, I have three Volvos that the wife, son and daughter drive: '87 745 with 265k, '89 744 with 305k, and '90 744 with 305k. Will let you guys know how the Q stacks up, over time, with the Europeans.

Very nice! I love the silver on the Y33s.

If you ever want that silver to REALLY shine, shoot me an email sometime and I can put my detail stuff to work. I just finished compounding my headlights and windshield this past weekend, and it made a HUGE difference.

BlueC: Fantastico. Thanks for the offer. I will shoot an email sometime. What are you using to detail your car? I think my Q's leather needs some TLC.

Sorry for breaking the rule.. Had to thank BlueC for his generous offer.

Falkdesigns: we definately do. I really like the look of your Q. That lowering and the large wheels give it an awesome look. It's undoubtedly one of the best looking Qs out there.
