Yeah you'd definately be going by where I live. We should setup a small caravan. The ground clearance issue is why I haven't installed them yet. With the length of the altima and space between front and back axles I know it would catch just about everything. I bought RL y-pipe and love it and plan on keeping it intact.

A small caravan sounds like a good idea to me. I can't say for certain but d356bud is probably going to be passing through almost the same way so they might be in as well. I'm sure there's going to be others so as this gets closer we'll have to set something up.

The RL springs aren't that bad for clearance it just takes a bit if a learning curve as some dips and speedbumps are completely out of the question. All my clearance issues are up front with the y pipe since it actually lower than the sub frame. I have yet to scrape anywhere else under the car.

br4dysays, I tried to reply to your PM but it lookes like you've disabled the ability to receive them.

Seems as though more peeps then last year will be attending.
Sounds great!!!!! I am thinking of bringing the coupe and the Titan that weekend.
The Cherohala Skyway is my favorite stretch of road so far. Can't wait to do it again with the rest of you.
Hope to see you all soon. I won't be out doing any of this in the Titan though nor the coupe lol

Hi all. The girlfriend and I will be heading down in the coupe. Really looking forward to the trip! Already booked a cabin at the campgrounds. Let me know when and how to donate the $20 for food.

We'll be leaving Thursday and driving for who knows how long till we find a cheap motel and stop over for the night and finish the rest of the drive Friday to get down there. We live near Philadelphia (12 hr drive) and will be taking I-81 south so if anyone wants to caravan, let me know!

I'll be headed down on I 81. Not sure if I'll be leaving from Albany, NY or from my garage in PA

The Dragon is awesome..... except on holiday weekends. I go about once or twice a week during riding season on my Gixxer to drag a knee, but have only been on one labor day weekend. If you like being behind an infestation of Harleys literally going slower than you can coast in neutral, you'll have a blast. Its a beautiful ride, but don't plan on tearing it up.

Schweet! a NICOFest close to me! We have a little one due Sept 10 (That still amazes me that they can give you an actual, albeit approximate, date) but depending on how everyone feels hopefully I can make this one!

Never been to Fontana Village or up on the Dragon?

Google: ZDayZ 2011 pics or videos, or go to www.zdayz.com to see if they have the gallery from this year up.

... Not hardly.. Well, maybe if you arrive after 12-1300. Hit it early, and there is *nobody*. Also, most of the "Cruisers" are courteous and will pull onto one of the numerous pull-off / shoulder areas.

... But what do I know. I only organized as well as attended last years event. ;)

I was starting to loose faith in the event since I hadn't heard any chatter in a while. Glad to hear people are still planning on attending.

I too will be in my sedan as well. AC + Cruise Control FTW!

Torry,
I think you will win the 'Long Haul' award this year.. unless Greg & Bex decided to drive.

I just booked my room today as a matter of fact. I'm going to try to start reviving the interest for this event here in the next couple weeks. I've just been super busy this past couple of months. I'll send out a Facebook reminder on the NICO fan page again tonight when I get home from work (FB is blocked at work, doh!)

Greg told me neither him or Bex can make this event this year. We'll be out in Long Beach, CA the following weekend for JCCS, so they are going to be working on prepping some cars to take out there and won't have time to make TOTD.

Sounds like a lot of fun but I doubt anyone would be able to hit the dragon (or otherwise) at high speeds. I've never been so I dunno.

Maybe I'll take the DD.

We will not be encouraging speeding through the mountains. This will be a cruise, which means abiding to all posted speed limits. It is not a race.

As EZcheese said, it's a CRUISE.. not a race..

Also, there are plenty of sections that maintaining 30MPH can be treacherous. Plenty of blind turns, etc.

Remember, there *may* or *may not* be a tiny guard-rail separating you from the edge of a 300+ ft cliff. It's no joke.

My wife will be just about 30 weeks pregnant for this trip but we are both still going to make it down. The 12 hour drive there will most likely be a 15-16 hour trip with rest stops for her to pee included. :chuckle:

Just a friendly reminder to folks interested in attending that the window for the reduced group rate of NICO is rapidly closing. I called last week and there were still plenty of rooms and cabins left.

Luckily we booked our cabin in February! We're set! Just watching the calender!

Oh! And who wants to spend money on trip like this just to sleep it away? I'll do that home.

We are getting anxious for September :) We were down there a couple of weeks ago after the storms.
Roads seem to still be in great condition on the north end of dragon. :) Even after tornadoes going thru the area
and 100mph winds.

By far these roads are not meant for speed.
Oh yeah you might see these guys too......

ChattCompDoc, that's a hell of a lotta cops!

Hope we can drive the road in peace and not get radar tagged every few seconds.

Booked my cabin this week, I ent for the one bedroom willow cabin. It was really cheap at $85 a night. I am excited for this event and to be in the smokies. The amount of cops in that video posted is crazy! :ohno: and to think I thought I saw alot of police in VA on I-95 the other month.

Will the sponsors for this event be listed somewhere on the site? I encouraged one of my favorite suppliers to be an event sponsor.. :) :)
