No, the helmet must be Snell rated M2005 or SA2005 or newer.240vert94 wrote:Quick question is a helmet with DOT FMVSS 218 allowed.
Really depends on the sanctioning body and/or event. Rule of thumb is the helmet is good for 10 yrs from the snell date, though some sanctioning bodies will accept them for 12 years. So you still have a couple of years of track use left for SN2005 and a few years before SN2010 will be required,WOLFANATOR13 wrote:pm's are on now, my fiance is the one asking about helmets, shes on a bugdet to get a helmet and havd her s13 ready for nicofest! any idea when sa/m2010 helmets will be required?
Last year, Carlisle supplied us brand new soft orange cones, perhaps 18" tall(?). I don't recall their exact size, but they're probably the size you consider monstrous. We performed a couple "cone-ectomies" last year, but I don't believe anyone experienced any damages as the result of hitting them. FWIW, Ithink SCCA Susquenhanna used these same cones when they operated the course during Import and Kit show.flohtingPoint wrote:Question, are the cones going to be those monstrous ones they used in 2010 or have they been downgraded to less damaging smaller "regulation" sized cones?
the Susquehanna SCCA folks were nice. They helped us out two years ago at P&S giving us access to their timing equipment. Pretty cool stuff.VQpwrdSE-R wrote:SUSQ SCCA looks like they will be doing the kit show thi year again. I saw it posted on their site. I was looking to get out there again but dont think i can because of my schedule. They have very few events this year as compared to previous years.
I'm thinking if this crap doesn't quit, I'm going have to get a set of Blizzaks for my "track" tires this year. Doing a track day at BIR on June 22nd, and at this rate they will have to plow the track before we run on it. We got another 6" or 8" today and it's not supposed to stop snowing until tomorrow afternoon.VQpwrdSE-R wrote:Just got mine. I am excite! Torry please don't bring the snow with you to PA
Your in dude. Don't sweat it. This is a fun event.nissan240boy wrote: am I good to go with there bein a little bit of oil at spots on the motor and subframe as long as nothing is leaking and dripping on the ground?
Exactly. As long as your aren't dripping oil all over the track and causing a safety concern for people, you are good. The only reason we check for leaks is for safety. If you aren't dripping, you are good.gmac708 wrote:Your in dude. Don't sweat it. Speeking of oil leaks, what are you bringing this year Torry?EZcheese15 wrote: If you aren't dripping, you are good.
Bringing the Celica this year! Oil leak has been fixed, but right now I'm waiting on a new hub to come in and getting new wheel bearings pressed in. Been having problems with the right front wheel for the last year and it ended up being the hub was worn down way out of tolerance. That should fix my ABS problem as well.gmac708 wrote:Speeking of oil leaks, what are you bringing this year Torry?EZcheese15 wrote: If you aren't dripping, you are good.
The show and track will go on, rain or shine. It rains at some point almost every year. Bring a raincoat!nissan240boy wrote:So been checking the weather for Carlisle, looks like chance of showers on Saturday. Will the show be cancelled for rain or do they still have the p and s show if it rains and will we still be able to drift on the track if its wet and rainy? I took off work for tis so just wanna be sure its still gonna happen if it rains.
