I see you have mud guards on, do they bottom out or rub on speed bumps after you dropped the car?
So that was that sound??? Nah, j/k... I havent dropped it yet, I just ordered the springs a couple of days ago... and as far as the mudguards, I thought every M had those things, like I didnt know that was extra stuff until you pointed it out. I started looking at some other M's and lo and behold, most didnt have these on... what package do they come on? The Premium "keep-my-car-mud-free" package?? Or is it just an option? Does anybody know...

P.S. They sit so high that I dont think they'll be a problem.
They aren't part of a package, just a dealer installed option, "painted splash guards". Mine came without them and has the premium package, I had them installed.

I only have the navigation and 8 spkr package and also have the flaps. I agree that they were a stand alone option.

I'm new to the forums, I just bought my '06 M35 S last week (coming from an '04 Caddy CTS - what a night & day difference in a good way!!!!). I plan on purchasing some wheels that are 22 x 8.5 w/38 offset (2 Crave No.14) and go with a 245/30/22 inch tire, from all research I have done (mainly through forums & cardomain) this should be a solid fit for my car. Can anyone on here chirp in and confirm this as being a good match.

Also - has anyone had any bad experiences with 22" inch tires & road noise (particular brands)? About 8 months before selling my CTS I replaced the tires on my 20" wheels and went with some cheapies "Fullrun" tires and the road noise from 7mph - to a stop was crazy like a jet turbine engine - it only bothered me though and not my wife, go figure - she didn't even really pay it any mind...LOL, to me it was a bit unacceptable for a luxury car.

Thanks ahead of time for any responses!

How much did the rear drop with the springs? I installed Tein's and the rear didn't drop much if at all from my measurment of the wheel well before and after. Also any issues with the front mud guards? I bought some but wasn't sure if they would bottom out on speedbumps.. Drop looks good by the way..

Thanks.

Car Model: Y34 2003 M45
Wheel Brand/Dimensions: Drag DR37s ; 19x8.5 +40 w/ 20mm spacers
Tire Brand/Dimensions: erm...? 245/40-19 all around
Suspension: Eibach Pro-kits
Other Information: fender roll all around. Fronts still rub a little. Would be better with 15mm spacer.

Not a 100% sold on these, but I do like the fitment. Just would like a concave 5 spoke look or something with a bit of a lip. Don't care for the slammed/vip look, since I want functional. Will likely buy a different set of wheels in a year or so.

Hey man, I didnt really measure the before and after but I can tell you that my rear drop was perfect to my standards and I wish the front would've been the same but I'm rubbing on the front and If I cant get it fixed to the point where's there's no rubbing at all I'm going back to stock springs or coilovers and I'm going to sell the Eibachs. I havent noticed any problems with the mudguards yet and hopefully I wont but if I do, I'll let u know.

Heres my 2007 M45 Sport
Still on Stock Suspension, but I'm running the Vossen VVS 085s 9.0 in the front and 10.5 in the rear with some Bridgestone RE760s 255/35/20 and 285/30/20. Going to lower on Eibachs next month, I dont know if I'll get any rubbing in the rear, hopefully it doesnt drop it the full 1.0" but we will see! Enjoy :)

Wow. This car looks surprising good with 20" wheels at stock height. I wonder if the M-AWD will look just as good.

Vredestein tires

Front 20x8.5 et30 245/35

Rear 20x10 et38 285/30 (I had the rear wheels milled to et 42, they fit perfect and don't stick out the fender)

Thanks JasonR

The car drives great and the rear is just planted.

because my car almost has 60k miles I think this summer I'll try to upgrade to OEM sport struts/shocks just to firm up the ride a little more.

The real problem is all the new potholes that haven't been filled yet, some of them are just to freaken big.

F1 Motoring took care of me, even got the 2 rear wheels milled for me. I know the owner (Frank) for some time now and was purprised that he had some Vossen, Donz & Concept ones on display. Most store up here don't have them.

shoot me an e-mail I have 2 pics of the inside of the store.

Great looking wheels, looks much better. Now go get some night shots with the deep blue sky, don't forget the stars. :)

How was the fit?

I'll definitely have to do that.

Fit is pretty good. Ride is fantastic, smooth as butter. I posted some more pics in the other thread I started. There's a tiny bit of poke in the rear, but i'm thinking that may go away when it gets lowered. After putting the new wheels on, I definitely want to lower it now, i'm just concerned about camber.

Here are my wheels; I've had them on for a while; they're Enkeis and they're cheap. I decided to go this route because I couldn't really find a similar style of really quality rim and given that I drive a lot (and will soon live) in Washington DC it didn't even make sense to get expensive wheels. The roads are TERRIBLE. The validity of this foresight was confirmed when I scuffed the outer edge of one of the wheels about 8 months in. If anything really bad happens I can replace these things for like $150 a pop.

They do look small as they're 18s but I really wanted to preserve the ride. I also want to let the AWD system work with its native specs. I've slowly come to accept the fender gap and with people inside the car pretty much looks lowered :)

I have a 06 m35x and I have the 08 fx45 20 on it with falkens 245/35/20 and I have a huge lump on one of the inner sidewalls before that I had a different set of fx 20 on it before with Toyo proxie tires 245/35/20 and I popped a tire and damaged the sidewalls n less then a year. I'm not the most cautious driver with these terrible roads but I'm not the worse either. I'm getting tired of replacing tires so my questions are what kind of tires do any of you have good experience with that hold up well and have a great quality n ride. Also what the biggest size tire I could go on my car keep in mind it's awd. I'm lowering it with the espilar springs on Tuesday also and hope too replace my tire then. If I get good feedback on a better tire I'm willing to replace all 4. Thanks in advance

I have had really good luck with Michelins. They are typically the most expensive tire, but I believe you typically get what you pay for. Also in talking to tire guys with a lot of experience, they say that Michelins have the lowest rejection rate. They seem to be built to higher standards. Of course this is all just been my experience. If you have discount tire shops, I'd get their certificates that will replace any tire they can't repair.
As for the size, I think you're good at 245/35, that keeps the overall diameter pretty close to OEM...well actually; what's the width on your wheels?

What type of michellin I'm not really concerned bout price along it's a good tire I'm spending plenty already replacing tires. I was told that the toyos were good I had them before and I had no problem but seems with this size rim and size car the tires don't really hold up

The Michelins I just put on are Pilot sport A/S plus. They have a treadwear rating around 500 which is pretty good. I also have new Michelins on my Denali truck and have been super happy with them on both vehicles.
