OK, I already "checked in" but I had to add a photo. My boss treated the Q to a day at the detailers for my Christmas present and I just got it back this morning. This is the detailers that do the cars for the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale! Very nice indeed. Here's a photo of the engine. Now I dont' want to drive it or even touch the car, hehe.

kim,

did you do anything special to the factory lenses when you added the hid kit or did you just install the hid kit?

thanks

That engine is CLEAN!... gorgeous, wow!

So, where would one go to get that type of detailing done? Are detailers common enough that I might find one local in Grand Rapids? Or, might I have to travel to get something like that done?

Also, how much would a detailing like that cost? Whole car or just engine compartment?

My detail was done at European Detail Specialists, Inc here in Phoenix. It was the whole car and was around $300. Not sure exactly as my boss paid for it

They cleaned every vent louver, nook and cranny, carpets, and the old pie pans probably haven't looked this good since it was new! Only drawback is that now I can see every little chip and blemish in the paint. The shop was full of exotic cars and the wall in their office was covered with photos of all the Ferraris, Lamborghini's, etc. that they've done.

These guys were awesome, I think you'd be hard pressed to find as good a shop anywhere.

Nope... no special treatment... direct hook-up it is However, I plan to swap out the USDM housing with JDM dual-layered headlight housing later if I have chance on the parts..

BTW... what happened to this thread? Not enough posts to make it to the sticky list?

I never noticed this thread the first time around, so I guess I'll check in now. Better late than never. Well, I have a 95. My father bought it new a day before his birthday on Dec 16 1994. He hardly drove it and he passed away in 1998. When I took over the Q, it had about 27000 miles on it. My Q is about as stock as can be. The only things that are not stock are the Tokico Blues, Rear Sway Bar, Front Strut Bar and 16in Chrome Rims from a Y33 with 255/50/16 Falken Tires. I also have a NICO sticker on the rear window which we all know it's good for and extra 10-15 hp's. Right now it's riding on the stock turbines with Blizack winter tires. Can't wait til the Spring. The Odo says about 75000 miles on it, but it's more like 84000 because I have the same problem that nuQ has with the odo working. There's my car in the sig. I have to take some better pics one day.

Huh, I missed this one the first time too for some reason. Oh well, gives me another chance to post up picture of the new wheels and suspension. Its a 92 non-active G50 that was owned by my father since new. He recently bought a 2006 Legacy GT, and I took the Q. It now has Tockico Blues, cali custom springs, SPL front and rear adjust. upper links, SPL adjst. tension rods, and 17 inch G35 sedan rims. Best pic I have at the moment, but that will change this weekend.

Sure wish the board would allow uploading for me.

I just saw this too. I have a 1994 Q

This is a picture I took a week after I got the car. First thing I did was get the Eibach Prokit lowering springs and updated the wheels. The wheels are off of a newer Q and the previous owner of them had them chrome dipped. It also has all new rubber, Fireston Firehawk - 255 60R 16s

I have fixed a few issues on the interior, just got a nearly brand new steering wheel off of ebay. I have a sunroof visor on there now. And this last July I got the car some extra dark tint 5% Recently I replaced the lights with some nice Silverstar bulbs.

I also just had the transmission replaced and had an Infiniti tech do it on the side. I will have to post up a current picture here shortly.

Oh and just today I got 302.6 miles on a tank of gas before having to fill up (but there was some highway driving in there. lol)

This is my '95 Q. I just finished build ing a unique sound system utilizing the original headunit, CD changer & speakers.I absolutely DETEST how hollow and "thumpy" the 6x9 speakers sound, so I built a pair of plates with Bose 4" drivers & Polk Audio tweeters. I also replaced the front ones with the same polk audio tweeters.I have an XM tuner connected via the stock headunit's AUX 2 input.
