Seems we are getting a new influx of F50 owners onto NICO, so i thought id start an F50 owners corner...

So, post up your F50 Q, any mods or outstanding information, and pictures (of course!)..

Too bad i dont have an F50 to post to this thread.

2005 Desert Platinum, premium pkg, no mods. First mod will be wheels (possibly Work Euroline DH 20x9.5 and 20x10.5) Second mod will be NavTV.

...jus remembered, my first mod was installing the splash guards on all four

Best full-size, luxury cruiser that I've owned thus far...

Baby got back!

And, the nose...

Need to lower to obtain the more aggressive stance and still shopping for a body kit...

I'm possibly going to go with the WALD KIT... i think the other ones now that I looked at them for awhile look too overworked for me. The WALD is classy and still appealing

I've also considered the WALD kit, but I've heard there could be fitment issues. I believe the WALD kit was designed for the "Japanese F50" which has shorter front and rear bumpers due to the lack of the "DOT 5 mph bumper requirements".

I also like the Auto-Couture kit. I found an image of the Auto-Couture F50 kit from the 2002 SEMA show...

I searched but was not able to locate more photos from the 2002 SEMA show. Perhaps someone else could search and provide some...

I wonder if they would work on 2005 models.....highly doubtful though.

The Wald body kit willnot fit the U.S Q45. The bumper reinforcement on the american car is bigger Thus the bumper cover willnot bolt to the body. I found this out the hardway on my 02. The 05-6 I'm not sure if any of this stuff will fit as the whole front end is different.

You can order it from japan and see if it'll work. It cost me $1500 in shipping back and forth to test fit a bumper and it was a good lesson for me not to test fit parts from 1/2 way accross the world again

Just curious as to why you chose the larger tire?

Please comment on ride and handling differences over the original size tire. Did you have the Michelin Pilot Sport MXM4 before?

Acouple of thought on the tire size. imho.....someone posted several weeks ago the comment that we do all these changes....then complain about XXXXX wearing out too fast or XXXXX not working right,1. Well, I'm in that camp. I think that there is a "balance' engineered into top of the line cars. and there is some give and take around that balance but not as much as the aftermarket wants you to believe.(This from a guy who lowered the A-arm on a 66 six cylinder mustang to shelby specs!!!! and felt the $49 spent on a rear sway bar was the best dollar for dollar improvement on that car. honest...it really was....no more dancing down the highway!!So I wanted a fuller tire but did not want to go with an aftermarket wheel/tire.the stock rims are only 7.5 x 18 and the 7.5 is pretty limiting....why didnt they go with 8?2. I really don't "race"...I drive a little aggressive. why spend $$$ for the 'ultimate' tire. 1200 for stock size mich. I looked at the Avons but they didn't come a size up. The KUMHO did so I looked at the reviews and fiqured for $660 out the door w/road hazd I was happy. this tire ranked 5 out of 16 and was much less $$$$$3. The Pilot HX MXM4 that were on there were down to the bar and just wore smooth on the inside. I got 25k on them from when i bought the car and they looked about 1/2 worn then.4. I can tell that there is some tread down there now going from bald to full tread is very obviuos so I don't want to make any early statements. But imo I feel the bigger size.5. I drive alot 35-50k yr and wanted the slightly larger size for any possible gain on comfort.6. the tires are 3 lbs heaver than stock..but have a higher load by about 130 lb each corner....also the wear# is 420 as opposed to 300 on the stock mxm4

two issues:the tire presure screen stilljust shows (*** PSI) on all four tires.it's been a week and I thought it might reset automaticly. I chkd the owner manual and the downloaded FSM (thank you thank you!!!) and I gather they should work automaticly. THe shop that didthe mounting wasthe top installer in Sacramento on tire rack ratings....I'm going over to see them today. They did not relpace the stems.

also in the middle of last week the "low PResure" alert popped on for about half the day. all the tires were at 39 so a false alarm.

THe transmission "seems" to feel different. did I read somewhere that there is a "learning mode" ???

All and All, I am pleased with the result.

I'm still debating whether to install the OEM spoiler. I like the look with the spoiler, but I also like the clean lines without it....

Oh, what to do....

Can you describe the installation process of the PIAA fog lights? How did you wire them? Where did you mount the switch?

Thanks in advance!

DuDro... I'm with you. I like the clean lines of the Q but I've also seen some sharp looking Q's with spoiler. I have a Nexen tires in my Q and they are terrible tires, made a mistake and I'm just looking forward for a change next time. l'll be going with 20" rims non staggered setup. Mark's Q is also sharp looking with some minor upgrades.

Q45man1, thanks for the comp.!DuDro,I posted several pics to my gallery site of the fog lights from inside. here is one angle.

http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/...19797

THe alum bumper piece makes a great mounting point. It is rock solid. I dropped straight down the edge of the alum. I made a 90 degree bend at the top of the strap steel. The bend at the the middle is at an angle to hang the light from. it allows for fine tuning the adjustment of the light because I could bend it at the middle and also adjust the two mounting screws that are on the light housing. THe housing just fit snug in the opening of the bumper.I used a remote wiring kit so I did not have to find a way thru the body with the wires to a switch. The remote switch is like the key to the car but smaller. THe lights have been in now about 3 months and are still tight in place. When they are on at night the sides of the light pattern from the Q's lights get a wider closer in.hope that helps.

Mcrews,

Thanks for the compliment. So far so good and I've noticed a better stopping power with this upgrade . I had my orig. rotors/brakes replaced 4 months ago. I had a choice between Hawk or Akebono brakes. Almost same price but decided with Akebono because I had the same brand put on my Accord V6.
