Not only that, but moving it a week or two either direction isn't going to assuage the Z faithful... not likely to get anyone to do back-to-back events.

Torry will continue to seek a solution, but this event has a history as well that's a decade in the making...

We don't have ANY assurances that those folks would have any interest in attending... then again, if there's only one day of overlap, it may wind up working out well for all involved.

It's actually only 380 miles which isn't a bad drive at all. I drove the Frontier from Tennessee to Carlisle last spring, almost 500 miles. It was a nice road trip.

I wasn't suggesting anyone move their event. I know it's way too late for that. I would like to say that when planning events in the future, it would be a good idea to check what else is going on in the area at the same time. The Z community is HUGE on events, especially those involving track time.

And yes. There are a ton of hard core people that would have, and do, schedule vacations around events. Even better when they are on successive weekends to help with travel time.

I really do hope this event is a success and doesn't mean extinction (a la 240SX *cough* Vegas *cough* convention, Phoenix NOPI, etc). It's always good to have more events that travel the country. I know that by involving a wider range of Nissan's, it will only bolster the event's participants.

If the only thing you're doing is the dragstrip, you'll be paying at the track for Friday night test & tune night through the track. I believe it's like $15.

However, you may still want to register with us if you are interested in either a convention t-shirt, raffle tickets, or the luncheon on Sunday.

We are working on adding raffle sponsors to the list. We've only had our sponsorship information available for a couple days now, and already we've got some pretty sweet raffle prizes. But we'll have many more that we'll add as we pick up more sponsors.

Sure! There won't be a designated "swap meet" per se, but you are more than welcome to try to sell or trade parts at the track all weekend!

I'll also see if the company I work for wants to be a sponsor.
If I end up going we can caravan out, It's going to be one heck of a road trip!

Give us a hand getting the word out, guys!

Also, someone mentioned a swap meet - If there's enough interest, we'll set up a special area, someplace on Vendor Row, JUST for swap meet stuff!

First off, thanks for all the hard work getting this ready. Greatly appreciated.

I have a couple questions. There is a group of us who are planning on camping at the motorplex and I was told that camping is free as long as we are registered, which we are. I know some of the guys are bringing tents but how do I go about getting a site with electricity for my camper? Also, I'm assuming the facilities/showers are going to be open and available to us, correct? Do you know if anyone else is planning on staying at the track/camping, besides the Wisconsin crew?

I don't know of anyone else planning to camp. As far as the camping amenities, I'll email the track and see what will be available.

Jim has electricity hook-ups. Just let us know what you need. I think there is a charge but it's no where near the cost of the hotel. The bathrooms have showers in them. Very nice facility.

I want to make sure that I am able to get a site with electricity if there is a limited number of those sites available. I'm not sure if I need to get hold of "Jim"(lol) to make a reservation for the site or if there is a number I can call.

Jim is the General Manager for Mid-America Motorplex. You can contact him directly if you'd like regarding the camping arrangements, or we can ask him. Either way, it's up to you. His number is 402-306-5015. Email is [email protected]

Brian, there will be plenty of space around the track to set up as a vendor. Please read this page to learn more about our sponsorship levels: http://www.nissanconvention.com/sponsors

You can also email us at [email protected] for more detailed information and we will work with you directly on it.
