planning on swapping in my ca18 next weekend and had a power enterprise kevlar t-belt ordered but it's backordered, how are you guys on oem timing belts doing? can they hold up to some abuse? and lastly, ive heard mixed things on if the ca is interferance or non-interferance, is there a definite answer??

Bang! hello valves, was this your spot?

Stock timing belt is fine, just change them at a decent interval. I do mine very 50000 Km or if I am in the area doing the water pump or something and have yet to pop one. I routinely shift in the 8000s

i will probably put a autozone/pep boys belt on for now and change when the PE gets here. i just imagine with drifting and clutch kicks etc the motor jumping around rpm's may be rough on that tbelt.

every stripped belt I have seen on CAs and RBs has been due to age. I see no problem with dropping a little extra coin for some insurance. Plus with the kevlar belt your engine will be bulletproof

I've been running a Nissan OEM belt with some serious abuse for at least 5k miles w/o any sort of problem.

I always fit Gates, FAI or Dayco belts, never had any problems with any of them, Dayco are OEM on a lot of french and German cars

the CA belt is the same part as an Audi 2.2 20valve if you're interested
