Here is what they have on http://www.nissanpartsnow.com/...=1485It looks like an OEM dimming mirror for Versa. I am curious if it has a battery or it's wired.

I can only assume that it is battery.I had the auto dimming, compass, and outside temp mirror on my Xterra and it was one of the options I asked about when I bought my Versa. They said it wasn't offered for the V and wiring was not even in place to add one.

Bancroft is another place that sells themhttp://www.bancroftaccessories...d=236

I sent them a question on the unit because now I'm curious myself. Wouldn't be the first time a sales guy was full of crap. My sales guy told me that the V had LED taillights. Still waiting for those lol because mine are bulbs. Anyway, I'll let you know when I get a response.

It doesn't look to hard to run some wires up the A post and under the headliner to get power there. I need to put some kind of map lights up there and will have to get power to them.

When we bought our new (then) 2003 Honda Odyssey EXL there was an auto dimming outside temp, compass mirror as an option...and if I remember right, it was well over $300.00.

I bought a Donnelly for about $175.00 with all those features and found out surprise-surprise, it was the same brand that Honda puts in as the option.

That was my first mirror install, and it took a couple of hours of groping around under the hood and the front dash to get everything hooked up.

When we got the Versa, the first thing I did was order another Donnally and this time it went in in about half the time with twice the fun.

There are other cheaper units out there that are Ty-won John knock offs, but they are not worth the time and trouble to put in.

Sometimes you can find the Donnellys on eBay, plus the other brands, but this one will work for years and never give you stupid readings, or washes out in the daylight like some of the others.

Just cut and paste this for an eBay search...

DONNELLY AUTO DIMMING MIRROR W/COMPASS &TEMP NEW CHEVY FORD DODGE GMC NISSAN..

This is the same guy I bought my 2 off of and I see they are now about $40.00 cheaper for the same mirror...

Here's a few other personal options I have added to the V...[Use the 'Slideshow' option to auto scroll and enlarge the pic's.

LOL, so you put on the "SL" on a non "SL" Versa?

Kinda like those guys in high school I use to laugh at for buying the "Turbo Charged" badges from Autozone and put them on the early '90's Ford Escorts. Not that I'm laughing at you....just an example.

Well Knightro, when the very first few Versa's were sold, neither the S' or the SL had any badging on the back deck, just a big blank spot where it should have been. We were among the handfull in our area that actually special ordered the SL built to our personal option preferences.

We wanted the SL for a lot of reasons, but when it was delivered 3 months later, it had no badging.

None of the early Versas had any, and the dealership had no idea if they were suposted to be that way, or it was an error in the build'. After a few months of production, The Versa's all got the trim level badging included.

I bought the SL script from the Murrano ($33.00) and put it on myself.

AS for Guys in your Highschool badging Escorts as 'Turbocharged' I wouldn't know about that, when I was in highschool I was driving a 1952 three ton Ford Cabover engine, water truck working on road crews during the summer holidays.

I guess those High School Ford Escort guys you were LOL'ing, all knew about the legendary Cosworth Turbocharged Escorts that were putting out over 450 HP and could do zero to sixty in under 3 seconds.

How does the OEM mirror come off? Is there a set screw or does it twist off?
