why not just go with an aftermarket one? Go to the junkyard and pull one off an RX7, they had decent sized ones, and they will work better than the ca's stock one anyway.

im just talking about this little piece that is what your oil filter mounts too. coolant flows in it and cools it a little bit.

i dont really want to do wiring and tapping etc for a external oil cooler, but i figure might as well try this since it should be pretty easy to hook up and i ned a new one ayways.

what do the motors that don't have an oil cooler have where the coolant lines are on the motors that do?

no my car has oil cooler and it has a bung on the block back by the heater hose where the coolant comes out to go into the cooler. What do the cars that didn't come with the oil cooler have ?? I'm just thinking that if you buy the stock oil cooler the stock coolant lines might not be there.

Correct. There are different fittings for the oil cooler's connection to the coolant system.

It will connect to the lower rad pipe coming out of the block and to the fitting coming from the block to the heater core at the back.

My engine didn't have the oil cooler but I got one from someone in the UK on SXOC and got various T fittings to duplicate the function, if not the form, of the original oil cooler equipped motors.

AFAIK JDM motors only had oil coolers if they were automatic, but all EDM cars had them.

Whoa, I wish!!! I have yet to see an EDM S13 w/an oil coooler unless you mean a diff oil cooler. No motor oil coolers though, and I've done quite a bit of dumpster diving here in the junkyards of Germany.

spl parts has one too...greddy one doesn't have very nicely sized outlets for an oil cooler

of course summit racing's is cheaper and the , and the summit racing one is purpose designed for that... thats probably what I'll use, I'm planning on upgrading to an air cooler soon.

the link tms posted was for the greddy oil filter relocation kit, not their sandwich adapter. I've owned their sandwich adaptor and the lines are not large enough for a decent oil cooler application... so don't be confused.

maybe its UK only then because I got mine from someone in the UK, and from SXOC forums it looks like alot of people have them..

are you sure they're not on the motors in your area? It was available on both manual and automatic, and AFAIK it was standard equipment; it won't be a large radiator style cooler like the Z but a small gizmo on the oil filter mount that passes coolant through it to cool the oil.

Oh, you can get oil coolers, they just dont come stock. I've seen 200sx's from here in Germany and in the UK, both of which did not have stock oil coolers. The only really "special" things we get is no speed limiter and a 4 port head. Oh yea, we also get a craptastic 3.91 diff too, whoopie =/

They're OEM peices. If they're part of some option package or not, I don't know, but they are OEM.

I can supply screenshots from the European parts catalog to prove it. If you have access to it yourself, look at section 213.

Seen the link off your web page, but I'm telling you, I've never seen such a thing exist. If this was around, I'd have a stock pile of them, sorta like my mini pile of 4 port CA heads and diff coolers.

The rest of your manual looks like a JDM motor, not a euro motor. In fact, alot of the placements for items in this catalogue is not euro at all.

heheh which part of the site. I have one part that is a work in progress that is JDM stuff. the wiring schematic is EDM tho. If I can scan my JDM FSM w/o damaging it and get good scans I'll scan stuff from it too..

but yes section 213 of EDM stuff has it too:

All UK S13 CA18DET's come with oil coolers, it wasn't an option.
