Hey just went to the parts department at Nissan Today to ask some questions, I asked about the auto dimming mirror that is offered on the 2009 Versa. The guy said it can be ordered and put into any versa for a price. The guy quoted me $80 for the mirror it self, then installation is $110 an hour. So add it up $190.

I also got to see a picture of the mirror. Believe me it is nothing special or spectacular. The mirror has nothing on it besides two switches, one of them to manually turn off and the other to make it automatically dim. As well it had a green light that tells you when it is dimming.

Just thought I would let people know. If you want it great but don't expect it to be special, or have any unique features.

$190 for a dimming mirror is a bit much. All you have to do is tint the rear window, which is sure to be less than $190.

For $190 dollars it should offer a digital compass and temp display similar to the one's offered in the Altima and Frontier. I think I'm gonna pass on that one.

Oddly enough that is what I said to the guy at the Parts Department, I wanted to know how they could possibly charge that much for no compass. To be honest I didn't even see the actual mirror just a picture and it looks kind of flimsy and almost like a china knock off.

If you consider going for this mirror just know you are getting something that doesn't exactly look OEM I would recommend getting some other brand. Gentex maybe

Well that sucks. I was really hoping they would add even more bang for the buck by providing at least a temp gauge, if not a compass as well.

Why not ask for the Altima mirror instead?

This is the mirror that I'm considering purchasing for my V.

I'm not sure if it will fit though. I'll have to ask.
