OBDII Skylines?

Ok im gonna keep this short.

is there an OBDII version of the nissan skyline? r33? r34?

im looking to do the RB25 swap in my 97 240 but would like to keep it emissions legal.

i dont think that Japan has OBDII only OBDI. US made it illegal in 96+ vehicles to have OBDI. I could be wrong

lol see this is my problem, everyone i have talked to says "i dont think so, but i could be wrong"

but i cant get a definitive answer! (this isnt an attack on you, im just saying i cant get a positive answer)

there is no OBD II on the R32 and R33 and R34, japan simply doesn't have it. On the newer skylines it might be there because it makes manufacturing simpler skyline>G35 etc.

PS. there is no such thing as OBD I

OK I guess there is no such thing as OBDI.. what does the R32 R33 R34 have lessthanjakejohn?

It just has whatever kind of diagnostic and electrical systems that Nissan wanted.

OBD-2 is simply the standardization of on board diagnostic controls and engine function in the US, mainly for emmisions control.

Before 1996 there was no standards for the controls of diagnostic systems and so therefore no OBD I. Calling your car that is from before 1996 "OBD I" is common way to associate your ECU type but is not the correct way.
