You need a cable that connects from your car to your computer. OR to your OBD2 scanner: https://www.amazon.com/ScanTool-OBDLink ... B005ZWM0R4

ECU Talk is free and can check the codes on your car.

Or if you know how to take interior panels apart you can take the passenger side (right) kick panel off and unscrew the ECU (2-3 screws) and follow the instructions in the service manual. Hopefully you still have the one that came with your car, if not its on www.nissanservicemanual.com.

Trust me don't waste your time finding shops that check codes on a Q, never mind work on one (And actually fix it). Unless you find a 300ZX shop, Nissan/Nissan Infiniti specialist or a Senior Infiniti Tech on a Friday just before the shop closes your better off with the two above methods.

How does that not help you at all?

Where is this diagnostic box under the arm rest? Does it have two yellow connectors going into it?

If the connectors have 14 pins on them and plug into what looks like this:

Then it will work.

Look I have a Emance Consult cable that only works on my Q with the IGNition switch turned ON (Not running) when I turn the vehicle on it stops working. When I use a 1994 Q45 ECU (California spec) it works with the car running or not. It may work on your car so send me an offer through PM or on your topic, what ever is best for you.
