Ridin' 2" low, and my O2H2 Bank 1 sensor dragged o the ground long enough that the connector is has ground away. And now all I have is wire ends.

From the sensor side, there are two white wires, 1 black, and 1 grey wire. From the harness side, there is 1 red/black wire, a white wire, a black wire (could be purple, its old lol), and an orange or brown wire (its old too).

Can someone save me some time and tell me which wires go to which? I have the FSM but that diagram does look like it requires a rocket scientist to decipher it.

Thanks.

All the best,
~HollywoodJackson~

You have three vehicles listed in your profile, one as "RIP", but you don't mention which one you killed the sensor on that you need help with.

Assuming we're talking about the 02Q45, those color codes don't look right from what I see in the FSM on page EC-252.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, my 1999 Q45 was burned up. The 2002 is the one I drive now. The harness that came with the car was altered by someone. It did work, but obviously the wire colors at the connectors were different. I've exposed the wires and have made an attempt to correct them.

So now I have a new question. The downstream sensor for bank 1 has a grey wire, a black wire, and 2 white wires (green connector). What color wires should the downstream sensor for bank 2 have? Also, the connector should be blue, correct?

All the best,

It looks like you have aftermarket O2 sensors that do not follow the same wire color scheme as OEM sensors. As per the FSM, the following is the OEM wire colors and connector colors of all four O2 sensors. Upstream=Sensor1 Downstream=Sensor2
Bank1/Sensor1 red/blu, brn, red/blk, blk/wht, connector grn
Bank1/Sensor2 brn, gry, red/blk, blk/red, connector grn
Bank2/Sensor1 blu/wht, grn/yel, red/blk, blk/wht, connector grn
Bank2/Sensor2 blk, grn, red/blk, wht, connector blu

Thank you everyone for replying. After your input finally got me square on whats in the FSM (EC pages 251 and 253) I just KNEW I had this problem licked!

I took the battery to O2S2 sensors harness that came with the car when I got it, took all the conduit protections off, mended any shorts, and slapped it back in. I have a new Bosch bank 1 sensor 2 sensor in, and the blue connectors that came with the car for bank 2 sensor 2.

I'm still getting a heater circuit error. P0141 and P0161 error codes. Having a better understanding, seeing the red/black wire branches off to give both sensors power, and seeing they also both share ground, it makes sense both have the error. I'm left thinking its the aftermarket sensors!

Something is telling me to replace O2S2 Bank 2 sensor. I'm thinking I should replace it with a Bosch sensor. I really need this car to.pass smoggiez.

All the best,
