i may be interested in a G but, i've heard complaints about NVH. i did some research and seems as though this issue was "fixed" in the 2008+ models. is this indeed true? what has been your experience?

Welcome to NICO!

Yes, but it was with a different version of the VQ engine. It changed for the Sedan in 2007 and for the coupe, 2008. Now, not every 2005-2007/8 engines had the oil consumption problem...in fact if they met certain criteria, Infiniti replaced the engine under warranty.

Having said all that, I would recommend that you purchase the newest vehicle you can afford.

I think you were asking about NVH (noise vibration and harshness) I believe.

I don't know if they fixed anything but the 08 G35x I'm driving is not as quiet as I would imagine a luxury car would be. I don't mind it or anything but I can only imagine the appointments the dealer service depts are getting from customers that traded in a Lexus, merc, acura. I sell KIAs and would say that a new 12-13,optima has less road NVH than than the 08 G im driving.

if you take out the trunk matts in a G you will discover there is no insulation on the rear wheel wells, so that would be the place to add some sound deading.
