Not all TCS are created equal.

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

When I ran TOTD last year in my Q50, I had just completed break-in with it (only had 1400 miles) and decided that, because I didn't have much seat time in the car, I would leave all of the nannies on.

Since then, I haven't had many opportunities to hammer on the car. Today, I did, and I finally took the traction control off (left trace control on).

Let's just say this - the 370Z's traction control is much less invasive than the Q50's. I imagine that's by design - you need a bit less of a raw experience with a luxury car. But this TCS system ROBS the car of peak power. It was so different that I don't think I've ever experience the true full-throttle capability of the car before today. It felt like a different animal.

I have had plenty of experience with TCS/VDC off and on in the Z, and there was a very noticeable difference between the two, but the delta is nowhere near the delta of the Q50.

Needless to say, I'm even more curious to experience the torque output in a Red Sport. I also know that they significantly revised the logic of the traction control, and most of that comes in the form of Sport+ mode. Can't wait to try one.

The problem with both is a lack of LSD. It's the one thing I'm waiting to see on the new Q60 is if they release it with LSD or not.

Granted, I have the AWD so at slower speeds it will transfer to the front and I don't have one wheel spinning. I've not put a RWD through its paces yet.

It still amazes me that any "sports" or "performance" cars come with open differentials - even the AWD models.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in it as well and if the Q60 does not have a LSD then it may be off my short list since I will be interested in RWD instead of AWD.
