I know alot of you guys don't venture into general chat, so I figured I'd post a link to my "other" project car It had a CA20 in it stock if that relates it to a CA forum topic...

I love those old S12's, my friend bought a V6 one and he is selling it cheap, if I had any money I would defintely buy it from him.

If I was in the states I would likely roll the S12. It is a solid car and under the radar of the masses of D1 padawans so it comes cheap. I would likely get the V6 one and swap in a worked Z31 VG30ET. If you really like the car make it happen, I have let a few very cool cars slip through my fingers over the years and regret every one.

I don't know about steering shaft/exhaust manifold issues but I've always thought about how pretty a vg30dett would look in there.... take the smallest car you can find stuff the biggest engine that will fit... its a recipe for success. And no, I do not want to think about how much weight that would add to the front end. But as it is, the torque of the ka should be pretty decent to haul that little sled around. What are you doing for suspension?

suspension techniques springs (280zx fronts with z31 300sx rears) on KYB GR2 struts. Also put s13 energy suspension sway bar bushings Should handle pretty well...

and here ya go: VG30DETT in an s12

stupid rear crossover pipe for the turbo makes this quite difficult... someone has managed it, but it required alot of firewall "massaging"

you could probably do a custom one to go under instead of over, if that was the main setback. Either that or a sledge hammer. That crossover pipe is pretty skinny so it shouldn't take but a few swings.

That picture is crazy, they even kept the battery under the hood... I guess that is from japan, I noticed the RHD, I wonder if the swap would still be possible in a LHD car. Any more info on that car?

I actually think the car is in Australia, but yes its a rhd car... I don't know anything about the picture or who's car it is, its just something that has been posted on the s12 forums alot.

I don't want to burst your bubble, that is a beautiful swap there, but 1) thats a single turbo vg30de, not a twinturbo, althought man that manifold looks pretty nice. and 2) thats an S13, not an S12

still a nice swap, just a different donor car with a different turbo configuration.

VG30DET actually. Don't let the one turbo fool you, just as potent.

That VG'd S13 has a lot of great work done to it. Try to find the brake master cylinder Runs low 11's at close to 130mph.

eh its an old hotrod trick to put the master cyl in the trunk. prolly not ideal, but it works.

Also btw, no that is not a vg30det engine. I'm not an all nissan genious, but I know the vg30DET uses a single throttle body. Thats either an NA-T vg30de or a vg30dett converting to single.

manifolds swap out. Also, not all VG30DETs use one throttle body.scope the Y32 VG30DET going into a Z, note the twin throttles.

This 240 though is most likely a VG30DETT with a custom single turbo manifold.

It was a DETT. Brake master cylinder's behind the dash. Check the thread

There are a couple S12's around here for sale, including one with a CA18ET that I might get the will to buy. That would be awesome, owning two turbo cars with different CA family motors! The guy wants $800 for it, I dont know the mileage though...
