Hi Guys I am a big fan of NICO and I thought at November 9th we can set up a track day. I know there is a huge interest for this so let's set up a fun day of racing. I'm trying to get everyone I can to go.

Ive also posted this on other forums such as IFX & Zilvia. Some G35 are also going that day. I am hoping to see alot of members. Thanks

hey miro. the name's marc. i'm really local to all you guys and am currently looking to pick up that 5 speed swap package. not sure what you want for it. but i'll defenitely buy it once you can give me a price on it. or at least a phone call. I've been on the forums for a year or two now and have been doing my own lil' 'car-club' thing on the weekends with 'pyro' from this forum as well. if you could, please call me at 2017419163 so i can get some more info on the transmission and what's included. hope to hear from u soon.

Hey Marc. I should have the transmission out by Thursday or Friday. I'll give you a call when everything is ready.

What's included is transmission, flywheel, clutch, master and slave cylinders, clutch lines, ecu, driveshaft, transmission crossmember, and transmission mount.

It's everything you need to do the swap except for a clutch pedal, which shouldn't be hard to find.

The transmission is in good shape, no grinding on any gears. I've been using Royal Purple gear oil in it since I've gotten the car.

Anyway, I'll give you a call in a couple of days to let you know the price and answer any questions you might have.

I had thought about it but it may take away from the precious time working on the S13 . Maybe I'll work on the car first and then head over there. Miro, you can roll w/ me if you want to go from the garage. LOL

Yeah, I know the Slidewayz guys... drifted in their parking lot once .

Are you sure you don't need the 5-spd ECU? When Nino did his swap, the engine would automatically rev up when you started letting out the clutch (i.e. putting load on it). This had to be because of the auto ECU.

Anyway, you can just try it with the auto ECU and get the manual ECU from me later if you need it.

We'll see how much gets done this weekend. My plan is to remove engine, what's left of the interior, and wiring from my car on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, I'm going to roll the car out of the garage and try to wash all of the caked mud off it (damn you Summit Point ). Then put it on jackstands and remove suspension to get it to a bare shell.

Also want to remove the rear subframe and front crossmember from the gray S13 (I'm going to call this car Dub City from now on, since it's confusing referring to two S13s in the garage). Then, I need to pick up a welder and hopefully get that working. So basically want to have both cars as bare shells and welder working by the end of the weekend.

Sam, just call up JWT to talk to them about it. They don't seem to be too good at answering e-mails. I've been thinking about why people don't relocate the MAF. I don't think I've ever seen it on the cold side although have heard people saying it gives a better reading. Maybe the MAF won't function properly with the hot air flowing through it out of the turbo? Even after the intercooler, the air temp is still way above ambient.

I was def. thinking about running the maf in "blow-thru" mode on "Dub-City" . I did this on my eclipse using a MAF-translator and a 3" GM MAF out of a Impala. No issues and idled perfectly. This also allows you to vent the bov completely to the atmosphere since the air-loss is not measured.

I might be getting out of work early on sat. if that's the case I'll swing by the shop and help tear about your car.

Ok JWT got back to me this is what they said

The MAF sensor based Nissan turbo control systems (all Nissan turbo models) were designed specifically to have the MAF sensor installed on the inlet side of the turbo and not to have pressure, heat and induction pulsations acting against the MAF. We do not offer any "blow thru maf" specific programming as the MAF technically should be installed on the inlet side of the turbo. We also recommend that the MAF be installed a minimum of 18" from the back of the MAF to the front of the turbo to keep any compressor inlet turbulence from upsetting the MAF readings.

now in my research ive hear a lot of stuff guys run it with no problems just running a little rich and they have wideband O2s to prove it then i heard one thing of a guy running really lean and blowing the motor due to detonation

the only thing i see is that the temp would mess up the reading the ecu would try and lean out for the heat but i think the the pressure from boost would make it run rich because of the amount of air passing thru it

now i took out my bypass and my blowing of into the open air with a draw thru maf ask miro the car is running great we went for a ride after i did it it has stalled on me but only when i shift into 3rd and let the throttle close all the way like driving around town and having to slow down after the shift needless to say it dosent happen offten if you shift and feather the gas a little in between the upshift its fine when the BOV gose off im gonna raise my idle to 900rpms to help it my engine out i have new turbo piping coming in im think im gonna try the blow thru maf

i also read the its a good idea to put the maf in a straight pipe in between your bends to keep the turbulence of the air flow from messing up the reading

sorry for the long reply

That's what I thought about the MAF. Also have seen people saying not to put the MAF too close to the throttle body (in NA applications) since the opening and closing of the plate creates turbulence that will keep the MAF from getting a good reading of air flow.

But if you want to try it, I have a couple of spare MAFs sitting around in case you mess yours up. Also have a couple of spare KAs... haha.

Or you can just install a MAP sensor and get an AEM EMS.

No problem. Thanks for coming by. I'm glad my transmission has a new home. Treat it well...

Sam, if you want the front body harness with the fuse boxes, can I get the one on your car right now? I need the connectors for the headlights and turn signals. I won't need it for a while though.

Hey Sam. I found your screwdriver. You left it in the trunk of my car. Also, you forgot your 10 and 12mm ratcheting wrenches.
