I think my thermostat is bad but I want to see if anyone else has a chime in this. My car won't run good unles it's at normal operating temperature but it takes forever to get there. Other then that it runs crappy and studders. Here are some pics of my and my friend at Orlando Ale House charging up my battery because my fans must of drained them out after I turned off the car.

Hope you guys think its funny

Im on the left

2 thumbs down for the CA when it runs ****tty and causes me problems hehe j/p I love this engine

Pic of my beautiful girl...the G35! I guess the gf counts too heh j/k!

could be bad water temp sensor, couild be stuck open thermostat, could be many other things.. a vacuum/boost leak that seals up when the cars hot for example

i do think its funny that your fans suced your batteryi do think your girl friend is cutei do think her car is faster then yoursi do think it makes my car along time to warm up tooi do, lastely, think that you should pull codes for coolant temp sensor, and its normal for your car to run poor when its cold beucase its runing rich, warm up mode, try a new thermostat as well.

good luck. i often do that to my ca also lol.

haha thank you and that's my G35 haha not her's she drives a POS Lexus SC400 errr that always has problems.

but thanks everyone it was my thermostat that caused the problem. Now the temp stays solid woohoo

but 2 other questions....can an adjustable thermostat and temp. gauge run down your battery when your car is not on? Also do you think that the fans could of did it too? I mean the battery was totally out of juice since it wouldn't even jump start. I had to buy a new battery.

adjustable thermostat? for the fans?

and the gauge, where they left off? for how long?

for half an hour its fine. ive done that to mine at the track, but i would guess for more then an hour yea it might start to take some wear on the battery.

Don't run the fans straight from the battery, relay them (or relay their relays) such that the fan system can only get power when the car is running; find and tap into a wire in the engine bay or interior that is only powered when the car is running, use that to run a relay to power the fans (or fan relays) such that they can't run it down.

having it wired to run after you shut off is useless, all you do is cool the radiator basically. there is not sufficient passive cooling / water movement from the cooling of the radiator to help cool the rest of the engine, any faster than if it was left there. If you are worried about shutting it off hot then idle it for a minute or so or get a turbo timer to do it for you.

I suppose it might be useful at the track to help cool it between runs just to get it sort of kickstarted on being cooler but you can just leave the ign to 'on' with the car not running :P

Damn, I was hoping you had figured out some random issue. I have a new thermo and it still acts a fool when cold. Argh.

or you can wire the fans to s switch inside the cabin, but that makes for some worries when the guys at the alignment shop dont really legitimize turing on my fans to go around the block lol worried aobut some warped head.

but yea, works great. shoot me a email if you have questions on how to wire it to a switcj.
