No reverse!

My friends 6 speed Spec V's reverse just gave out on himwon't let him go into the gear at all and makes this weird whining voice when he attempts to go in reverse i figured that transmission will either need to be rebuilt or replacedproblem is I can't find a rebuild kit (stealership is my last option) anywhere!! I know the sentras share the same 6 speed as some of the maximas only difference being that maximas have lsdbut would it be a direct bolt on? or do they have different bellhousings? or could i possibly use a maxima transmission rebuild kit for that transmission?? I have no clue what to do from here please any help would be good

That's not quite accurate. 6spd Spec's also have an LSD.

The transmissions may be the same, but the gearing is probably different since the Max is a 6cyl.

Gearing is different in the maxima. You would have use the bell housing from the Spec V. I have access to a SE-R transmission, which is only a 5 speed. Better than nothing I guess.
