I don't see it referenced anywhere, so I wonder - is there no NAV available in the Rogue?

Yeah, I haven't seen a GPS option mentioned anywhere, but since the external ones are getting cheaper and cheaper that it didn't really concern me. I'd rather spend $300-500 on an external one than drop an extra 1-2k on one that is built in.

Tom Tom just came out with one (GO 720) for $500 where you can actually edit the maps yourself so you don't need to buy/wait for map updates. That'll be really nice.

That unit also offers built-in mp3/audible playback as well as bluetooth support (in case you skip the bluetooth option on the Rogue, or gt a model where it isn't offered).

I agree completely

I won't spring for the extra dollars for a built in Nav system. With the low price, portability and flexibility of the handheld versions.. those are the way to go.

I plan on installing a Pioneer Avic-Z2 in the double din (which has blue tooth support). I think I will end up with Blue tooth phone buttons that do not work because I want the IntelliKey option which comes with blue tooth phone option. When I talked to the guys at Car Toys they didn't see anyway around this. Any suggestions?Dixie

I hope the avic-z2 is better with the bluetooth then the avic-z1 that I have but in all the nav part and the system works great.

What issues have you had with the Blue tooth in the Avicz-1?

Hey guys I am a Nissan Sales rep. If you have any questions feel free to ask me or email me at [email protected] As far as navi goes it will not be avaialble on the Rogue, We are trying to keep it in the CRV and RAV4 segment. If we put navi it will pump the price up to 25-27k! You can get a murano for that much....

I was surprised at that, too. With all the other "goodies" Nissan is offering with the vehicle, I felt certain they would include a nav system.

I'm sure it's no big deal to get a portable nav system but I'm one of those people who prefers that it's built in. I would rather pay the extra and have it readily available instead of needing to remember to tote a portable system and then having cords strung everywhere everytime I want to venture out to new places. Plus, I'm not overly excited about sticking something on my windshield and blocking my visual field.

I have a Garmin C340, but i can't really find a good place for it, and don't want to use velcro, and stick anything to the dash, and really don't want to ruin the clean look of the dash with a wire hanging out..

i'm still trying to figure out what is the cleanest solution for the GPS unit i have.

I'd like to hear what some of my fellow Rogue owners did in regards to a GPS solution..

thanks!

I've got a Garmin, too - it's low on the windshield, in the far left corner, out of my line of sight, and the cord wraps neatly around the dash - it's tucked into the groove that makes sort of a half circle/oval across the dash, then hangs straight down 'til it plugs into the outlet. Not sure if you can picture it, but the cord is completely out of sight up to the point it's plugged in. Course, now I have to type w/my left hand, but it's nice-n-neat!
