Hi. I just registered. I traded in my 2009 Nissan Versa for a 2013 Nissan Sentra SV. Here's to hoping I made the right choice. Cheers! :wavey:

We have updated our reliability stats for the Sentra to include owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

2011: 22, better than average

2008: 39, about average

2007: 67, about average

2006: 13, better than average

2002: 51, better than average

On Sentra #2 had an 06 1.8s special edition and traded for a 2011 2.0s, no problems with the 06 and the 11 is serving me well. Looking to mod it extensively in the next few years though.

As it is known, represents Nissan's Nismo division for autosport, and over the years have worked on serial cars like Juke, 370Z and GT-R. Similar to the above cars and Sentra Nismo provide the same modifications, and those starting with sports bumpers and LED headlights and a black mask. Aggressive design ends 19-inch wheels and a few We mark. Nissan has not said much about the interior, but are expected sports seats and more standard and optional equipment with only one published picture. Most attention, however, is devoted to the mechanics and is so taken 1.6L turbo engine from Juke and its dimensions increased to 1.8L. While the standard Sentra developed only 130 hp and 173 Nm of torque from atmospheric 1.8L engines We developed even 240 hp and 325 Nm of torque while the power is transferred to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

The new 2016 Nissan Sentra probably will be presented without Nismo trim package, but we expect that this powerful package will be available in Sentra in 2017 model year.

Our reliability stats for the Sentra now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2011 Sentra: 13, low, very small sample size
2010 Sentra: 36, low, very small sample size
2008 Sentra: 22, low, very small sample size
2002 Sentra: 101, moderate, very small sample size
2001 Sentra: 128, high, very small sample size

If a model year isn't listed, or its sample size is small, then we especially need more owners involved.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Sentra to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2011 Sentra: 25, low
2010 Sentra: 32, low
2008 Sentra: 40, low
2002 Sentra: 104, moderate

Very small sample size in all cases. With more participants, we could provide more precise stats and cover more model years.

Nico-newbie here...

Just purchased my 1st Sentra last Friday, May 27th 2016. I got myself a used 2013 Sentra SR with about 50,000 km.
Everything was tuned up by the dealership, I am told that there is no work to be done immediately... however I am noticing very poor gas mileage according to the on-board system. When I started driving last week it was displaying 15.5L/100km. After a week of driving, about 600 km and 2 gas fill ups, and now it's showing 12.8L/100km. The mechanic told me to drive it for a bit, and said that the car had sat in the lot for about 6 months... I am hoping to see a drastic improvement, soon. On a side note, my father is driving a courtesy-car from the same dealer, it is a 2014 Sentra SV with about 10,000 km and that car is displaying 8.5L/100km when he drives it... I drove it for a day, and got it as high as 9.5L/100km, however I did do a lot of city driving during that time, while my dad does more highway driving, perhaps that can help explain the shift...

This is my newest/youngest car, so far, at just over 3 years old... and 2nd Nissan, I had an old Micra, back in the 90's the kind that you could literally lift/carry out of a snowbank if you ever got stuck... that car never gave me any trouble, but was simple as hell, no frills, no finish, no dashboard, no extras... it just got me from A to B, and it did so, slowly... I've pretty much had mostly compact or sub-compact cars, so far; 2x Ford Escorts, a Toyota Tercel, a Nissan Micra, a Dodge Neon... (maybe 1 or 2 more) plus more recently a Saturn Vue and a Honda Odyssey, an SUV and minivan, respectively.

I heard that this model of Sentra is considered to be an Altima-lite version... well, whatever the case, my wife and son love it... and so far, besides the odd mileage/full consumption, I am liking it too... I have yet to take it on a road-trip of even push it past 120km/hr... but it's only been a few days.

Thanks for reading, and for having me... I hope that I can help contribute to the site or at the very least this Nissan Sentra reliability thread. :)

We've updated our reliability stats for the Sentra to include owner experiences through June 30, 2016. Reliability information elsewhere is based on a survey conducted in April 2015--well over a year ago.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2011 Sentra: 48, moderate, very small sample size
2010 Sentra: 45, moderate, very small sample size
2009 Sentra: 74, moderate, very small sample size
2008 Sentra: 55, moderate, very small sample size
2002 Sentra: 82, moderate, very small sample size
