Oops. It's a QX4. Did shocks and struts. 30K maint et al. Budget $1000 per year to fix and maintain. Timing belt was $750 here in Maine.

1997 QX4 with 246K. No major issues to report. It doesn't see as many miles as it used to as I bought a Leaf last year and that has replaced the QX4 as the daily driver.

182500 2001 LE. Biggest thing was entire computer was replaced for $2,000 year ago. Other than that just regular maintenance. But now dealing with P1140 and squealing at start. If anyone in Portland/Beaverton area wants to help me not throw away my money id be grateful.

That's great to see. My 2001 has almost 170k miles and I hope it has another 170k in it. Have you replaced the water pump? Preventive maintenance? Besides rebuilding most of the suspension I've only replaced the alternator and spark plugs on mine.

:) :naughty: Hey everybody!

I just recntly acquired a beautiful Pathfinder 2002 with nearly 150k miles on it

I havent checked oil, plugs or any other major components, i know it runs nicely cause the shocks and brakes are neat

On the road above the 80mph it tends to move to the right and left like if it is swaying slow (so not sure what to check right here)

My question is: What do you recommend to me to do asap in order to make it gallop another 100k miles more?

Thanks in advance!

I can post pictures later :)

Rear control arm bushings. I replaced mine with polyurethane from 4x4 parts (I think that's who it was).

Did it myself but had to get a impact wrench to get the bolts off.

Just got a 2003 QX4. 182,000 and going strong. Has a slight issue with a rumble/vibration between 57-70 mph and 2-2.5k RPM.

Did you ever find the issue for the vibration. I am getting the same issue.

First post in this forum. Just picked up a 01 QX4 4WD with 180k miles. Seems to be running fine. Did throw a service engine soon light so need to investigate, and I do get the shimmy from about 57 to 70 mph as well. I was assuming tire balance.

02 QX4. Creeping up on 155k miles. Needed rear brakes, shocks, VCGs, balancing of drive shafts, front wheel bearings. Outside of that, it was mostly catching up with maintenance items that had been neglected. Oh, and fixing that adaptive cruise control system!

My 2006 PF LE has over $225,000 miles on it. Just had it’s first tune up! I believe I can get over 300k.

2001.5 PF LE with 205k on it (and counting). Had it over the past ~35k. Nothing too major- had the oil cooler leak (easy fix) and sporadic overheating issues (removed swirl valve/second thermostat, main thermostat, replaced radiator and unclogged rear bleed pipe). I still need to replace the rear trailing arm bushings and replace the valve cover gaskets. RMS is leaking too, but hoping HM oil stops that. No rust!

2003 Pathfinder SE 4x4 with 140K miles. Runs good. I too had the shimmy at 60-70 MPH, but tires were terrible when I bought it. New set of tires (and balance, of course) took care of it. The only real issue I have with it is the water leak (seems to likely be coming in around top/left on driver's side).

My 2001 Q just hit 256xxx miles.
I've had it since about 2011 which was at 126xxx miles.

My reverse gear just gave out, so my miles are going to stop here :(

That is too bad. But 256k is pretty darn good! You could always buy another used one - they are priced pretty reasonably at this point. You'd have lots of free spare parts!

Been there long ago. Think ahead and you can get by without it. Maybe an occasional push, just don't park down hill.

Just recently purchased a 2003 LE Pathfinder 4x4 with 163K miles. Engine appears to be in very good condition (no ticks or odd sounds) - the previous owner was meticulous with service intervals and history (mostly - see below). Being a rust-belt vehicle in Western PA I'm surprised how good the body & undercarriage condition is for a 15 year old car.

So far I've done some maintenance and additions;
- Front sway bushings, air filter, spark plugs, cleaned MAF & throttle body.
- Plan to do front end-links, steering rack bushings, rear bushings/end-links, rear shocks (KYB Gas-A-Just) and the oil cooler gaskets - it's a mess under there. This website has already been incredibly helpful (spark plug walk-through especially).
- Added a Pioneer AVH-3300NEX in place of the Bose system. In the end the wiring was not that difficult and install was a breeze. The addition of Apple CarPlay is awesome.

Only thing the previous owner never did was spark plugs (thought they were a lifetime part). After pulling the plugs I could not believe there weren't any misfires. Plugs were worn down to the thicker part of the electrode (no tip whatsoever). The gap basically doubled. It's apparent these engines are damn good.

This vehicle will be primarily used as a winter vehicle. I plan to garage my 2008 Legacy GT during those months and couldn't be happier with the purchase. These cars look and perform great for being 15 years old - very happy to be part of the NICO community!

Almost 205,000 on my 2001 Infiniti QX4. Have had to replace oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, light bulbs, and tires. Need to replace the spark plugs soon. No sensors yet and hopefully not for a long time. Still original parts other than listed. :werd:

Right at 540,000 miles on a 2002 QX4. Nothing other than basic maintenance until now. Reverse suddenly disappeared - no warning whatsoever. Hoping that it's something simple.

01 Infiniti QX4 185K miles and runs perfect. No major work done at all, only preventive maintenances.
