That truck looks like a great find - it would be an exceptional keeper.

I bet someone couldn't figure out how to get the electronics working on it (not on forums) so he scrapped it.

HG37, by the way, should be a Limited Slip rear end with something close to 3.73:1 gears. That would give this truck great highway fuel mileage, but it would have a harder time pulling a boat. It most likely had an automatic transmission in it, too.

It is an automatic, jp2code, and the truck appears to have been in an accident on right rear side.

I came across this truck after it had been written off. It has a broken frame. Most of the good parts have been stripped and it will soon be getting scrapped.

The frame is mild steel, so it is safe to just weld it back up.

If the frame sections are bent up, you can patch it by placing pieces of straight steel over the damaged stuff.

If you're interested in saving it, of course.

This little truck has been in my family for years, although we are not the original owners. No dealership paperwork. This truck is has a high sentimental value to me. I'm only 16, so yes, this is my first vehicle. It's the truck in which I first learned how to drive in (and how to drive manual). It's also the truck which I learned everything about mechanics. So, I adore this little truck. I've done some touch-ups to it here and there like replacing the dash cover, carpeting, leather bench seat, upgraded sound system (still two speakers though), and painting the bumpers. Other than that truck sits stock.

Plans up the road (chronologically): 6 Spoke 17 inch 08-14 Titan rims , drop blocks with front equivalent, replace weatherproof stripping, bed cover, refresh paint job, KA24e swap at 300k miles, new clutch with new engine.

Rim swap + drop should be within a couple weeks, will post pictures then.

You need to find out how to post pics. Use Photobucket. Without pics, it ain't happening.

Awesome!

If that thing lasts as long as any other Nissan, you're liable to have the last Hardbody out there on the road.

Just keep the oil changed regularly, timing belt every 60k miles or so, and that should be about all it needs.

What did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking? How did you find it?

I got it wholesale from a dealership in arkansas for 4k. I just got pretty lucky I had been looking for months. It was owned by a Vnam Vet that just never drove it kept the interior in excellent shape. I drove it home to New Orleans and I have been cleaning up a few very small scratches in the paint and had paintless dent done on 2 small dents. Planning on keeping it in the family till the wheels fall off. Its my first hardbody ive owned several 280z's as far as classic nissans go but I always remember my father saying the best car he ever had in his years was a hardbody and he was a well practiced mechanic for many years.

Got this 1995 XE-V6 4x4 about 2 years ago from the original owner with 58,000 miles on it. paid $4,600. Love it. Let me know if that picture doesn't show up.. the link is blocked by my work computer, so I can't see anything.

Nate, were you the one talking about picking up a new Hardbody a few months back on Infamous?

If not, there was another guy a while back looking at that same truck. I'm not 100% sure if it is the exact same one, but good shape, low mileage D21s in Black & Purple don't come around often.

Negative. Not me. I've had this one for about 2 years. It's been a great truck. I love the 90's purple mud stripes. the body and interior are in great shape too. the guy I bought it from had no clue what a gem he had. I called him about 30 minutes after he posted it on craigslist and said, "when can I see it? I have to be first to drive it." haha!

1 owner had this, donated to a High School shop class that tinkered on it for a short while, I bought it for $500. Other than an idle/tach issue (explained in another post) works great.

Thanks! I changed ratios from the stock 4.375 when I went up in tire size from 215/75R15 to 31x10.5 to maintain the same engine RPM for a given speed. Especially important with the beast of an engine that is the Z24--106 horsepower!

It sure is! Especiallyally with a bed box in there, too. I had to deflate the rear tire to get that extra inch so I could close the tailgate, but she did it and I was happy.
