This is awesome news for Nissan's entry back into the racing world, at least in the US.
I was a always a little disappointed when I would turn on the Speed channel for some Rolex Cup or ALMS and see Mazda out there along with Pontiac/Saturn and the usual BMW & Porsche participants but no Nissan to be found anywhere, when I think of the original import sports car (at least mass market success) it's always the Z that comes to mind.
I am a little surprised given Nissan's release of the
370Z RC, but I don't imagine some grassroots 350Z racers were going to plunk down $170K for a new car anyway so I don't see any 370Z RC sales getting cannibalized by this latest announcement.
And maybe we'll start to see some more NISMO parts, or at least revisions and improvements of some old ones.
