Sorry to hear this. How many miles, and what happened?

I have a 2001 Maxima I plan to sell (original owner, 25k miles) and will look to purchase either a 94-96 300ZX or 2004-2007 350Z. Can you provide your comments on reliability with these two models, as well as if any one year fairs better? Thanks!

I have no data on the earlier model, but people have told me that they, and especially the TT, can be a bit troublesome. Then again, any 12+ year-old car will require upkeep. Owners of the 2003-2005 have been reporting few repairs on my survey. The 2004 and 2005 appear to have fewer problems than the 2003, but even the 2003 is better than average.

Problem is, we still need more participants to provide precise results for the Z. Anyone who can spare a minute or two four time a year can find the details here:

Nissan 350Z dragster hits 60 mph in 1.2 seconds i found this title article on: Auto Short News http://www.autoshortnews.com/p...an-2/ This is the World’s Fastest Nissan? Pro Class drag racer built using Nissan’s 3.5-liter VQ six-cylinder engine borrowed from a 350Z, sending nearly 1,900 horsepower to the rear wheels… yes, really.

We have updated results for the 350Z to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2005: 48

2004: 32

2003: 41

All are better than average. Sample sizes small for the 2004 and 2005, good for the 2003.

A big thanks, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February.

With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. We'd especially like to have a result for the new 370Z--many owners here? We need your help.

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants in mid-April.

Some have, but need at least 25 to include a year in the survey. So far have 16 2005s and only 3 2011s.

2011 370Z/ One month old. No problems at all except a noise coming from the right rear over bumps.

Considering the cars complexity, I'm damn impressed. :bigthumb:
