Nifty City Android Piggyback Infotainment

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Nifty City Android Piggyback Infotainment

Postby me73 » Mon Mar 01, 2021 9:13 pm

I've collected what I think are all the parts I need to install a Nifty City piggyback android infotainment system in the QX50 without having a bunch of wires in the console cubby. Planned out and found a good spot over the glovebox for the unit (there's no room near the existing stereo/screen) and have the cable routing set up. The plan here is no hole cutting or wire splicing. So I'll just be popping out the existing USB connector and cig lighter socket in the console cubby and replacing them with USB panel mount connectors. I'm looking forward to having Android Auto and Carplay! I'll take some video of the effort when I'm done.

Here are the install videos. I'll follow up with another on the features after I get some time to play with it.
