just got a 1993 300zx non turbo. we got it for $1500. it has 275k miles! it runs pretty good, has a few oil leaks I want to fix, like valve cover, and few other small ones. but general what maintenance needs to be done on these? timing belt? and what general issues do yall see with these cars?

btw, it was $1500 because of someone backing into it and it denting the fender.

Welcome!
Your Z will need a lot of attention from what you wrote, they need the 120K service which is timing belt and tensioners, water pump and cam seals and radiator service including hoses. You will want to take care of the leaking valve covers, but which is a major job and would benefit you to do more when doing so such as injectors and harness for best results.
These cars are expensive and difficult to find anyone to do good work on, and a PITA for DIY so be prepared for repair costs at and in excess of your cars' value, and/or some really fun weekends doing some tedious work!
Welcome to the club! :chuckle:

Agreed with ^^ that guy. Might as well super clean the intake plenum since its off to do valve covers, I'd also do the front and rear main seals (front you's already there while your doing the Tbelt rear can be done while your doing a clutch if you need to) I'm using OEM heat iridium NGKs do plugs and have great results as well and pick up a cold air intake better air flow. Also advised to replace the pcv valves to both are on the bottom out side of the intake plenum and replace the hoses aswell
