Hello Guys,

Nice to meet all you guys.. this is my first post here tho I've been checking out this forum for a while.....but i am sure i'd be stopping by much more often after i own a Nico vehicle.

I am from Toronto Canada and I am currently looking for a 03/04 G35 Coupe in Black exterior, 18" Rims, 03/04 factory rear spoiler, Auto or Manual.

can people here give me some suggestions on where I should pay attentions to when i go to a used car dealer??

over time I have seen people in this forum having some issues with tire feathering, dust problems, audio control on the main dashboard, speaker noise coming from right front end..

can anyone briefly explain to me what tire feathering is? ....

also, has 04 model significantly improved in terms of the workmanship compared to a 03 model? or they are both coming out from the same mold?

any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you guys in advance.

welcome,

Give us a little time and you'll be answered. Most of the boys are offline this time of the day. Make sure you post pics when you have her. I think I saw a 35 at my local dealer also several weeks ago. (Guelph)

I just check the Guelph infiniti's website. They don't have the black anymore. There is a silver one 2005 with 48000km in it.

Welcome to NICO!

Woohoo...another crazy Canuck

Of course you want to get a detailed History on the car

I think it's called Carfax.

Also for tips go here

http://www.samarins.com/check/index.html

Look here for common problems with that particular model, recalls, complaints etc.

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/c...h.cfm

And lastly...Tire feathering occurs when the tread ribs actually scrape down the road. It's a common occurrence when the tire has a camber problem or needs toe-in or toe-out alignment. Reports of extremely loud tire noise (sometimes identified as tire roar or howling) almost always accompany the tire feathering problem. Once the tire wear begins, so does the noise. The more miles accumulated, the louder the noise gets.

Hope that helps...have a great day and Welcome aboard!

Hi G_whizz, your expert opinion is much appreciated.

i will spend some time reading the URL you provided....

you mention in last post that tire feathering is mainly caused by camber problem... does this happen to all four tires or only the front (or rear)? would swapping tires on regular basis reduce the chance of tire feathering?

how about the other problems that were mentioned by members in this forum? (audio control, speaker noise, dust problem, etc., ) in your experiences ..are these common problems in G35 coupe 03/04 model or they are just unique cases?

finally, is 04 model significantly improved compared to a 03'?

it's quite difficult to find a black G35 Coupe up here in Onatrio.. i have been looking for weeks but still haven't found a good one...

seems like a silverstone exterior would be my backup option here...
