Post

Hi all! I'm a new Versa owner! Recently (Jan 16) bought a new 08 Versa Hatchback S, Automatic (cause of the wife, can't drive stick). I totalled my Saturn, and this is my replacement commuter car. I was looking at the Aveo initially.. Then i said, , the versa was a couple of k more and not built by Daewooooo. So i went to my local Nissan dealer with my company discount letter in hand and three hours later i walked out with the car. I love the car, just turned 1800. Only had one issue so far. It was missing the outside / inside air selector nub, it just had the stem there. Service ordered part and will install this Thursday, free of charge. I also ordered the rear bumper protector for the hatch, and i'll pick it up then. So far I've put matched color side molding on her, a clear-bra kit (front bumper, part hood, part front qtr pnls, mirrors), tinted the windows, put in a auto-dim/compass hdg/temp/map lite mirror. Do the SLs come with map lights? Not happy w/sound system, so I'm listening to metallica cranked till speakers blow so i can justify replacing them to old lady. I'll replace the system at that point too, need front audio jack input on the radio for mp3 player input. Rims are on my wish list, but with 5 kids, no freakin way can I afford that! LOL.I'll get some pics up, but my camera still has bananas in it... don't ask. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to NICO!

So your wife is punishing you via her inability to drive stick, huh? I suppose it would be bad for you if you bought a stick, then left her in the middle of nowhere with it and made her drive it home.

SLs do come with map lights.

Yeah, the sound system on an S is pretty darned basic. Paper cone speakers, low power HU. When you replace the system, you're going to want to replace the WHOLE system.

And sure, I won't ask about the bananas.

Yeah those stock speakers suck lol. That was the first thing I replaced when I got mine. I think I went overboard though, I have over 1600watts total from all my speakers and sub :\.

Here's a few pics of the rearview. Main reason for buying was twofold. 1. MAP LIGHTS!2. Auto-dim -gee wiz feature

I went to Auto Trim in SLC for install. This is the mirror website:http://www.cipausa.com/interior.htm

Once you hear quality speakers and setup, you will understand why people swap out their stock system.

man that rear view mirror looks sweet..am hesitant whether to get it coz it needs installation and they have to peel the roof off to provide it with electricity and basically i just need the map lights from it so am still searching for a better more fit battery powered alternative
