thanks for the link, Im not going to do forged internals just yet tho. The motor only has like 3000 miles on it since I last rebuild it with stock internals. Float you are using supertech on your rebuild right now correct? What do you think of them?

I am using supertechs. I got them from FRSport and they came with a good set of rings that I like. They appear to be good quality. I haven't run them yet though, so I can't say how they're going to stand up to abuse.

Ya I was thinking of doing cp's when I do it but i read that they shrink when cold and there is some piston slap when you first start up so Im going to avoid those. And I still want to keep the stock oil jets so wiesco is out and that is why I chose supertech

LOL, those are all the same reasons I went with the supertechs as well. The piston slap on the CP's is pretty bad when it's cold, and I did have a lot of side wear on the cylinders for only have 45K miles on the motor.

Ya but I figure with low boost on the 5557 with the stock internals I should be fine for a while

Yea, stock internals are stronger than people give them credit for. I would have re used my stick pistons on my first rebuild if I could have.

Would they handle more then 300 hp? Everything I have read that is about were they max out at. Im not planning on pushing more then 10lbs of boost so I dont think I would have to worry about being over that 300 hp threshold

Boost _boy had a stock bottom end at 500 hp IIRC.

I have a stock bottom end at almost 300 hp crank. New head gasket and bearings are the main concerns, along with not over-revving (because of stock rod bolts). Follow that and you'll be fine.
