Just figured I would post these up as I just got them delivered the other day, along with my Z Haynes manual (yes they finally made one). If all goes well I will have them installed next Saturday the 20th. Oh, just in case you are curious about brand etc, they are DC sports Headers with the Ceramic coating.

If the Haynes manual for the Z is like every other Haynes manual that I've seen (and I've no reason to believe otherwise) you'll be better served with the Nissan FSM and a laptop for any real work you might want to do.

I heard that header installation on a z could be a real pain in the @ss. Are you having someone install it? How much is the labor cost?

putting headers on my truck was a zip. Even my friends intergra. Lots of engine bay space...its a fairly simple setup. But the z....I hear you have hoist the engine out of there.

I have done a bunch of checking around online for header install writeups on the Z. And some of the writeups make it look not too bad at all, while others make it look near impossible. Me and my pops (30+ yr mechanic) are going to take a good look at it first and decide if we can handle it before I decide if I am going to pay someone else to do it.

The reason I actually got the ceramics instead of the stainless steel was because of the price. I was able to get them for $200 shipped! Found a real good deal on ebay.

I have never seen anything about having to remove the motor.....some people say it would be easier but I am not going to try and remove the motor just for some headers lol.

Unsure wether I will have someone else install it or not. I got a quote from a guy the other day for $500 for labor.

I already have the FSM on my comp, I am just using the haynes manual for simple things that I won't need much detail on. Actually come to think of it......I have never actually needed anything more than a haynes manual for any of my cars......Once again different tastes lol.

I did those exact headers on my 2005...they're nice but you'll notice a lot more injector tapping noise and some extra raspiness...

as far as the install - first thing you should do is buy an extra exhaust head stud or two...if one of those breaks (like they did on mine) you're screwed...and most dealerships don't have them handy...

it's a huge PITA - you have to move around a lot and move the PS resivoir, etc..it took me and two friends 7 hours if you don't count the hour it took to get the new head stud...also be prepared to find someone with small hands that can get in there - most the area's you operate in don't have very much room...

GOod luck!
