Post

Hey everybody, my name is Joey and I'm down in Atlanta, GA. I recently purchased a 2009 2.5 S super black altima coupe. So far I am loving it! I got a killer deal on it by doing the cash for clunkers program and selling my car outright. My previous car was a 1995 Acura Legend LS, in wonderful condition. However, I got tired of constantly having expensive maintenance on it, so I decided enough is enough and I ended up with this. And I couldn't be happier!

Future plans for the car: HID headlightsFog lights, with HIDPossibly LED stripTintEventually stereo upgradeDon't know what else?

By the way, it's auto, but only because there were no 6 speeds in the state of GA at the time of my purchase. I couldn't wait any longer though. I was a little weirded out by the CVT transmission at first, but now I think it's fantastic

Hi there, Joey, and welcome to the forums. I myself am just about an hour or two south of you down I-75 (Macon/Warner Robins area).

When did you buy your A/C? The only reason I ask is because I bought mine in early July this year, and I *had* to go to Atlanta (specifically Marietta) to actually find a 6MT (there were none in mid-GA at any of the dealers I contacted). And they had 2 super black A/Cs (2.5S) there when I bought mine (from Team Nissan Marietta).

Looking forward to some car pics, so get some up here

Ah, yes, I've been down there a couple of times. I actually bought mine about 3 weeks ago, on August 9th, I think it was. I was a bit disappointed to find out about the no 6 speeds because I called up the dealer I was going to purchase from (Stone Mountain Nissan - great people by the way!!) and was told they didn't have any in stock, but that they could have one delivered same day. Anywho, to make a long story short, the salesman didn't actually check the GA inventory until I got there and lo and behold, no 6 speeds in GA. I was pretty upset, but it only made my deal better I think. I do live in Atlanta, so maybe the CVT was ultimately the way to go anyway.

And don't worry, pics will be up soon

Hmmm, well let's just say it was WELL under $20,000. I got $4500 for my clunker (a 1990 Isuzu Trooper) plus the $1500 off Nissan incentive plus another $1000 off in additional negotiation. All in all, I think I got a killer deal on this vehicle.

So now I know there are at least two black 2009 2.5S Altima Coupes in metro Atlanta. I live in the Conyers/Covington area. I saw a Black 3.5 at IHOP this morning. I have begun to see more AC’s around in the last month or so. When I bought mine in April they were still relatively rare. Welcome to the Forum, it’s a great bunch of people.

thanks! I think the coupes are still pretty rare, at least IN Atlanta. I've only seen a couple around here. Lots of sedans though...

I'm going to be in Marietta for my first service appointment at the stealership in Marietta on Mon 05 October. Those of us in the Atlanta area should try to get together for lunch or something and show off our Altima Coupe mojo (well, I'll have to fake it somewhat, 'cuz mine is pretty much un-modded, but at least I'll have windows tinted by then!):D

I'm going to be driving up early in the morning and dropping my car off at the service centre by 7 or 8 am. Not sure when I'll be out of there, but I'm thinking it would be done by lunchtime

From another new guy, welcome Joey.

Seeing how more than a few here would have much preferred a MT and were frustrated in that desire on account of their rarity, makes me think Nissan miscalculated the demographics of the Coupe buying population. Given the car's sporting character, I'll bet they probably lost some potential A/C buyers on account of inadequate stock of 6-Speeds. And considering the gap in pricing, it isn't like it would've undercut Z or G35 sales.
