hello my name is eric i just bought my second car which is a 1990 nissan sentra xe hatchback model. this is my first nissan it has 149k on the dot. i was having a jumpy idle so i took off the mass air sensor and spryled carb fliud in the tb and brushed away with a toothbrush put it back together and the car will not stay running it drops rpm's and dies... i have a mitsubish 4g63t galant and this is the procedure i usually follow... What did i do wrong? im not all that experienced with cars and am still learning im just young and not experienced like i said.. Also is the tiny screw on the maf sensor the base idle speed screw maybe if it is i just dont have it adjusted right. Maybe i got to let all the carb fluid dry but it sat for 2hrs before i put it all back together idk please any help would be appreciated.. thanks for your time i hope to know more and meet some ppl on this fourm.

Yeah on nissan's you cant do that. If you want to clean it you have to the whole throttle body off as I understand. I think you have to go to the dealer to get your idle reprogramed but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else can give a more definitive answer.

First clean the IACV and MAF. Only use a bit of gentle vacuum and mist some Windex over the MAF or you could screw up the sensor. My bet is IACV anyway, so maybe try that first.
