Just finished putting together a subwoofer box for my Versa. I decided to build it level with the hatch opening, so that I put together a platform on the other side and use the space underneath as storage.

Before the flaming begins, I know the wiring isn't pretty. It's current location is simply temporary. When I upgrade the door speakers I'll install a new amp for them under one seat, and a new subwoofer amp under the other seat. I just wanted something to boost the bass a bit for now.

BTW: The wiring for the subwoofer does exist back there, at least in my SL. That is where I got the signal and the turn-on from, so I didn't end up having to pull out my deck. I did run a new power and ground wire.

Regardless, the sound is much better.

Here you can see the box, and how it is fitted for the corner of the luggage area.

Here it is installed.

Here you can see how it is sized to fill the side of the luggage space. I have a metal grill to cover the speaker in case I need to use the space for hauling something. This will be even more useful for that when I move the amp.

Here is a shot with the seat down. As you can see it is about 3 inches lower than the seat. I wish it would end up level with the seat, but the door sill is just too low.

I've never understood the fascination of huge sub boxes and what not in a car but then again, I'm not that young anymore.

That said, I think you did a great job of fitting that box in the corner. A quality job, in my opinion.

Good job!!!! All you need is a grill to protect your sub.

Impressive.Where you moving the amp to?

Kinda OT, but curious:Since I have the SL, is it easy to add factory sub? Is the wire harness in place making it a plug & play?

The amp will be moved under the driver's seat. At the same time I'll be putting an amp unter the passenger's seat for the four door speakers.

As for the wiring harness, yes it is back there, at least it was on mine. It was tucked up behind the side panel, but it was there and connected.

The biggest quesiton is where you can find a factory sub box for your car. Do you have a source for one? How much do they want for it?
