Hi.

I just took delivery of a not-very-used 2002 QX4 :D . I would really appreciate a bit of help with a couple of things:

1. What shock absorbers do you guys like for the rear (one of mine is damaged)? I'd like to keep the current ride and will get the factory shocks if there's nothing better out there.

2. I would like to get the service manual on CD. Does anyone have one for sale?

3. Does anyone know how to get rid of the slimy feel from a plastic surface that has been ArmorAll'ed? (Don't you just hate that?)

Thanks,

Tenaya

Any good all-purpose cleaner (ironically, I like Armor All brand) should do the trick. Once you have cleaned off the old slime, get some "303 Aerospace Protectant" sold over most detailing product sites. This is a wonderful product that provides a great look and protection with a nice satin finish if applied properly. It makes the surfaces look new without the "slime" appearance.

i like using plain water and a papertowel to wipe down the dash area. armorall sometimes attracts too much dust and i agree that it's too greasy looking. on the wood i use some detailing spray or guitar polish (obviously not on the steering wheel). a repair cd you can get off ebay (where i got mine), but most are copies.

Thanks for the input on ArmorALL, I',ll try them. ;)

I haven't been able to find a service manual for my specific year/model on eBay (yet). I guess I don't mind a copy if that's what it takes to get the information I need. :thinker

Does anyone have rear shock recommendations? I've researched a couple of aftermarket recommendations, but I'd like to know how the ride will compare to the factory shocks.

Thanks,

Tenaya
