Hello everyone...I am new on here and I have some questions about working on my coupe. I have a 2008 AltiCoupe (pictures soon)!-I would like to change my Calipers. Do you suggest painting them or changing them all together?-My brake roters are rusty looking. What do you suggest I do for that?

And last but not least...

-I just got some nice 20" shoes put on and want to have it dropped. Should I cut the springs or buy a suspension kit?

Heeeeeeeeeeelp I welcome all suggestions! Thank you!

Welcome!

For the calipers, I'd say paint 'em.Stillen's got some nice drilled/slotted rotors for a decent price, but I'm sure there's a way to clean the rust off the stock ones......and please don't go all ghetto and cut the springs! The Eibach kit is just over $200 and well worth the price. If you want a bigger drop, BC Racing has developed a set of coilovers (but you'd better have the $$$ for those!)

Welcome!

I would paint the calipers using the G2 kit - you can find it on ebay, or straight from G2 if you want. You can replace the braking system, but this is going to cost you quite a bit of change...$2-3000 depending on what you get for parts and labor...

The rust on the brake rotors is normal - they all do it, and it goes away when you brake....that's just how metal is. It gets wet, starts to oxidize, and then it goes away after braking.

Don't cut your spring! That is a bad bad bad idea! Go with what ESP said - either purchase a set of lowering springs, or go for the coilovers!

1. Paint them Pick a nice bright color....its a nice all day project but its worth it especially w/ 20's

2. Paint the brake hats they get rusty and crappy looking

3. BC racing coilovers if you have 1000 bucks but if not get the eibach springs for like 220-240

oh and hahahahaha LBC and Dangeris

Miss614, these are where I bought my springs. It was a pretty good price $220 + $15 UPS ground shipping. Since your from california too, you should receive them fairly quick (3-4 days). You can see pics on how big of a drop you will get in thread i recently posted:

http://forums.altimas.org/zero...my-ac

btw, be sure to get the right springs! 2.5/3.5good luck!

Welcome to the family as you'll see we really love our coupes. Don't be scared to ask a question to the crew but make sure you do a search first before posting it. It's that blinking "search" button at the top!

Welcome to NICO miss614; you mentioning the brakes reminded me of something I've been pondering. I wonder how much is involved in doing a Z32TT (90-96 twin turbo Z) caliper swap; performance wise it would probably be a lateral rather than an upgrade, but they are a much better looking caliper, and much cheaper than a big brake kit if all you're going after is looks?
