Hi all,

I feel in love with my buddy's wife's 05' G35X sedan a few months ago and decided I needed one of these cars in my life. Ive always been an American muscle guy, I have had LSX cars, Mustangs and still have several turbo Buicks. I have been looking for a two door 6 speed and found one. Everything is a go so far and I'm hoping to close the deal Thursday. From what I have done research wise I feel like I'm getting a good deal. 05' black on black coupe 6 speed with 37,000 miles. Its loaded with every option except the navigation for $18K. My plan is to replace my GTP with this G35 as a daily driver, I'm not going to be driving it in heavy snow or ice but it will be a year round car. How well do they serve as daily drivers? Also the car is bone stock, I don't want to mod it much at all, I did not buy it to go fast but everything I have ever owned I always tweak just a bit. What are intake options? leave it stock with a panel replacement or do a cold air type? Any new owner advice? Thanks!

I'll let the guys help you with the go fast goodies, I just want to say Welcome! :wavey:

You will love your G. I traded a G37 in on my Z. I had to keep my Z28 though for whenever I had the need for American Muscle! You will have to post a pic when you get it, and post pics of the Grand Nationals too. Gosh I always loved those. :dblthumb:

Welcome! I had an 05 G35 coupe with the same options...it was a fun car for sure! There are a few Canada guys that run their G's all year. If you see a lot of snow, then winter tires are recommended. The OEM tires are a summer tire, but they were most likely replaced (probably a few times). They may now be all-seasons.

As for mods, here are some ideas:

Intake: R2C or Stillen. I had the R2C on my G37 and loved it. On my G35, I had the JWT PopCharger with a Z-tube, which is a very cheap short-ram style intake.
5/16 plenum spacer. The VQ35 engine has an issue with the rear cylinders not getting enough air/fuel mix in certain RPM ranges. The spacer fixes this issue and bumps HP/TQ.
MREV2 lower plenum: Motordyne sells a ported and polished lower plenum that works in conjunction with the spacer for even more HP/TQ. It also sounds fantastic!

Exhaust: I had a Stillen CAT-Back...it was ok. Decent gains and sound. HKS is the best...but pricy. Greddy is another option.

Make sure to search the forums for for more details!

Thanks!!! I must say I LOVE the G35! So much so I think I'm going to sell one of the Buick's instead and keep my GTP as my daily driver, This G is way to nice to use every day and to hard to keep clean lol

Yeah, my G was black too. It was my 3rd and LAST black vehicle. They are beautiful, but not for totally anal folks like me.

If you have never tried Zaino products, you should get some. It is great on black cars. No residue! I even use it on my door handles and my head/tail lights.
