i got a pair of silverstars for xmas... me and my stepdad popped the hood, and we couldnt figure out how the hell to get the bulbs out to replace them... we got the rubber ring and he got another part out, but he said theres a restraining clip there he didnt want to break... can anyone helped? i looked at the service manual and they said to remove the entire headlamp?

It's really easy...

Just remove the rubber seal, push the small metal bracket to make it wider (push left on left side and vice versa) and the bracket should open right up where you just slip in the new bulb and replace the bracket and rubber seal.

Just be sure to keep some spare bulbs handy. I love my Silverstars in my other vehicle, but they do tend to blow out after about 6 months of use. That is why I will probably not be using them in the V.

I hope you didn't touch the bulbs with your bare hands. The reason your SS blew out after 6 months is because of the oils from you fingers. I have had them on my truck for the past 2 years without any problems.

Any of you Versa folk converted to HID yet?

I replaced mine with brighter white bulbs as well. Getting @ those H4s is kind of tricky. Just that spring-clip off before removing the bulbs. Don't touch the hot end! If you do, alcohol swab it to remove the oil that your fingers left.Fortunately my '86 Suzuki GSXR 1100 & my '90 Russian squad car take the same. Just my F-150 is different...

Hmm... I wonder how they would compare to these: http://www.futureshop.ca/catal...catid=they are the Philips Night Guide bulbs. They are the ones I am using right now.
