Stanza, hardbody. Maybe Altima if the plug is the same for a DOHC.

Sounds kinda like the laundry list of stuff I have for my truck. Also, where are you picking up drop blocks from? I've been trying to find some 2" blocks with no luck

I believe places such as CSK, Napa, and Autozone can get drop blocks. I remember Mark telling me he found some 3" for ~$30 from one of those places.

My dad has had his 620 sitting in the garage for years... we not so recently picked up an sr20det+trans for it, it'll be a beauty once it's done... likely gonna bag the whole thing and put it on 19 or 20's

This won't happen anytime soon, the whole thing has been gutted + sand blasted, all welding is complete. However, the MGB V8 is the main priority right now, just needs a rear end setup (4-link).

sounds like a cool project. 20's though i think would be too big to look right on one. the bigest i would go and will go is 18's. titans to be exact.

nice truck! i want your wheels! well today i ahd an issue with the oil light not going out when it was supposed to. that pisses me off. now i might have to yank the motor, not that theres much to deal with in doing that but its still a pain to do. oh well i guess thats what i get for having an old car.

decided to put on an oil pressure tester and run it up to operating temp. 25PSI at idle when warm and 60 PSI under load. looks like a bad sensor to me. i am about ready to just say screw the light and run a gauge. i ahve a mechanical one somewhere but i would need some new fittings and some better line to use it. my temp gauge works great now that i got it replaced. sits roughly 1\4 way up the gauge where its supposed to. i really should do a comp test on it as well but i'll do that another day. it runs and stays cool so i am a happy camper!

tomorrow will be the first time i have driven this truck any distance since i got it. i drove it around town a couple times but no more than 10 miles. tomorrow it will get an 80 mile shakedown. i will be heading into Seattle tomorrow to visit family as it has gas and runs. and my MIL will get to see this for the first time. thats gonna be fun. all in all every thing now works. i have temporarily patched my radiator so hopefully it will hold for a while. also there are a few more things i have to do but all in all its road worthy.

well i got the drive line out and u joints replaced. i had ONE bad one but replaced them all. i also pressed off the carrier bearing but i screwed up the last 3 threads on the drive line pulling the nut. so i am gonna file off those 3 threads and attempt to make it work. i also ordered 2 new nuts from Nissan but they wont be here for almost 2 weeks. if , for some strange reason, i cant press the new carrier bearing on i am on the lookout for another drive line that i can use.

also while it was down for hte drive line issues, i put in a manual choke kit. now HOPEFULLY it will idle when its cold since the electric choke sucked balls. this week i will also be adjusting the brakes and bleeding them to hopefully get them working right.i will be redoing my vapor barriers since they need to be done anyway.

thats my update for now.

if you read that you'll understand why. now i need MORE parts to get my truck on the road. this sucks ***! i need it going NOW but i have to wait MORE! i guess i am just screwed for now. this sucks. so for now i dont have any brakes on the pass side rear. BUT to keep the wheel cylinder from coming apart i ziptied it together. :D sorry bout venting on this but it was needed.

yesterday i made sure my timing was dead on. also found out that, on my dual point distributor, that my advance points were toast. seeing as my retard set is doing nothing at the moment due to bad parts, i swapped em. i used a business card to gap teh points to .020, which BTW is right in the middle of the specified gap of .018 - .022. i figure that would be perfect. i need to replace teh air cleaner though. its being a PITA to get on properly since i installed my manual choke kit. i have been toying with the idea of a webber carb though in place of the stock hitachi. we shall see what funds allow. OH and soon enough i will be dropping the rear at least 2 inches. got the blocks for free so i am not gonna complain. just need some new u-bolts so i can install em.

well soon the truck will have some nice seats in it. i have no idea what they are out of but they were in a 79 KC so the mounts had already been added. i just ahve to modify where the holes are on the inboard side. no biggy. but these seats are freakin nice. it looks like they were height adjustable but i dunno. nor do i care. but they are reclineable with lumbar support. that'll be nice for long drives. also i got he air cleaner to sit right. i guess i didn't have it clocked properly. now it fits like a glove and no issues there. i also picked up a passenger side outer window scrapper. now to find a good drivers side one.

OH and if i can ever sell my Caprice i will be trying to get another 620. a 79 KC this time though. anyone want a caprice wagon????

got my new (used) seats in. man are they comfy! tomorrow is the true test of how they feel. i have to drive to seattle to sling a few parts so i am gonna take the datto. i also fixed my passenger armrest. the u clip that the front screw goes into had fallen off the door. no big crimp it back tight and put it back on the door. now my armrest works right.

OH and i found my water leak into the truck. its NOT the vapor barriers, rear window or any seal. its leaking in at the joint where teh back of the cab meets the floor. on the outside there is a lip that protrudes out from the back of the cab twards teh back. well that had been holding water and rusted that section of hte cab out. so now when it rains, the water just pours right in. any ideas on how to fix that WITHOUT major work???

well i had some time today to work on the truck. i had a SMALL issue with it not returning to idle when i hit the clutch when coming to a stop. SO i figured out it was a mal-adjusted BCDD. so i got it adjusted so its right now and all is well with my rig again. now to solve my water leak issues in the cab and get a better radiator. i think the one i have is clogged beyond clogged. at low speeds it stays nice and cool but at higher speeds it wants to run REALLY hot. at least it runs and drives though. its slowly coming together and becoming a nice daily for me.

well i have found the water leak into the cab. it seems that my leak is coming from a rust spot at the bottom of the cab wall. right where the back wall and the floor meet. also i have been working on my brakes. i have torn apart and lubed the adjusters so now i can adjust them. i had 2 bad adjusters so those were replaced. now my brakes actually work! took me a while to get my drums off as usual. but they are all done now.

i also replaced my shocks. the things i had on there were so old and crusty they were shot. now i have working suspension. soon enough i will also have a somewhat factory disk brake setup. i was lucky enough to obtain a complete late 620 disk brake setup for free. as well as a complete rear axle, springs, and drop blocks. so all i am needing now is the Z car master cyl, wear items, and the custom control arms. that'll be soon enough.

i have also installed a tach in it. its a Sunpro Super Tach II. nothing major but it is switchable for 4\6\8 cyls so i figured it would work good for my needs. so far its the brightest of all my gauges. i am wondering if i can install different bulbs. if so i will be doing a bulb swap. its hard enough to see the gauges as the bulbs are REALLY dim.

also i have been tweaking with the carb to get it working properly. i have adjusted down the mixture and reset it to basic settings, idle is now at 800 rpm and timing is toned down to 5*. now it seems to run like a chap with the exception of under decel down hill in gear it backfires through the exhaust. it was doing that at 8* as well. i am beginning to think that my cam gear is off a notch or two.

so all in all its coming together nicely. i have a few more things to do but all in all it works nicely.
