Sorry I don't visit too often its been busy at work and such, since Charlotte we discovered the trans fluid turned black with shiny bits, still working properly but not comfortable racing another event the unit was removed, 3rd was once again showing heat, this time 4th band was also, the glitter traced to a new hushing sound while brake torquing, it seems the original convertor with 100,000 + miles(actual unknown) + 16,000 race miles it finally lost a thrust bearing. New 4th band, new 3rd clutch pack, used junkyard torque convertor, fill with Redline fluid and off to the 14 hours of Sebring (sept 28)
Everything started pretty normal, in a pack somewhere around 100 cars the first driver reported too much rear brake bias and subsequent loss of control but no crash, he continued with more caution. Confused I interrogated and found the ABS light was on, no problem it would clear with a key cycle and reappear every hour. We are running well, 12th place up to 5th and back all day, I was lucky to get the last 2 hour run 9-11pm in the rain, luck? Yup, turns out I am the best choice when wet @ Sebring, suddenly the top 4 are for their own reasons a little off pace and I'm on fire, I really want a top 3 so I push with a mission not realizing we were in 3rd already and running down 2nd, the last turn of the last lap I passed him for a photo finish 2nd place!'
The previous years winner in a z32 broke the trans early, a cheaty BMW suffered from a missing wheel leaving the finishing order with a mitsu 3000gt as the winner, our j30 and a 240sx on the podium.
