I clicked my own link and it carries me to the home page asking for a car #, no mention of purchase (if I remember correctly till you try to download the displayed large image)

Pics look great, what size wheel and tire are you running? Id imagine that large square scoop up front would be creating a lot of drag.

Thanks, rims are 2003 mustang cobra 17x9 with 255/40-17s
Scoop is hopefully forcing that drag down the relocated air intake ;)

Yea the trophy's are always a hit.
A heavily race prepped big V6 acura 5 speed, not sure of the year but the engine looked like a pretty modern 3.5L

140+ mph reported by a another competitors GPS, for whatever its worth if someone wants to look up lap times from other series running the daytona rolex course we could run a 2:22 lap

Not sure its been quite some time since it was weighed last, I suspect 2850-2900 with a tank of fuel sans driver.

Drivers conference seems to confirm we are going to Charlotte motor speedway in less then a month, 10 hour enduro and 4 45 min sprint races

2820lbs
Charlotte overbooked and forgot to tell us not to come, 60+ cars show up only to be confined to the infield drift track for the sprints and forced us to postpone the big track+ infield (ROVAL)endurance race from original 8am start time to 8pm then race to 2 am ! Not at all what we expected but were already there and the series was promising to make things right.
Experimental camera angle of the sprint racing.
4th in the sprints, 9th overall

Sorry I don't visit too often its been busy at work and such, since Charlotte we discovered the trans fluid turned black with shiny bits, still working properly but not comfortable racing another event the unit was removed, 3rd was once again showing heat, this time 4th band was also, the glitter traced to a new hushing sound while brake torquing, it seems the original convertor with 100,000 + miles(actual unknown) + 16,000 race miles it finally lost a thrust bearing. New 4th band, new 3rd clutch pack, used junkyard torque convertor, fill with Redline fluid and off to the 14 hours of Sebring (sept 28)
Everything started pretty normal, in a pack somewhere around 100 cars the first driver reported too much rear brake bias and subsequent loss of control but no crash, he continued with more caution. Confused I interrogated and found the ABS light was on, no problem it would clear with a key cycle and reappear every hour. We are running well, 12th place up to 5th and back all day, I was lucky to get the last 2 hour run 9-11pm in the rain, luck? Yup, turns out I am the best choice when wet @ Sebring, suddenly the top 4 are for their own reasons a little off pace and I'm on fire, I really want a top 3 so I push with a mission not realizing we were in 3rd already and running down 2nd, the last turn of the last lap I passed him for a photo finish 2nd place!'

The previous years winner in a z32 broke the trans early, a cheaty BMW suffered from a missing wheel leaving the finishing order with a mitsu 3000gt as the winner, our j30 and a 240sx on the podium.

Pretty cool. I enjoyed reading through this thread. The J is a solid car as your torture tests have proven.

There is a fast team running a 300z 5 speed, they report rebuilds almost every other race, we run 3-7 races between trans repairs.
New paint and parts from a recent parts car purchase, a little face lift for the Carlotte race next weekend.

Thanks, heres a little more

Charlotte started out low pressure as it was our last race of the year and to be a short (LOL)10hr race using (LOL)*just* the nascar oval with 2 chicanes, (not hard on the car like 14 hrs @ sebring) It was decided to use up some "spare" partial brake pads and tires that would not usually get used for a longer event, save some $$.
Just 45 min in everything went south, the driver radios back the brakes are goofing i.e. pedal drop, damn, I knew the calipers were overhaul overdue and misjudged now one has a frozen piston and boiled the fluid.
Long story short 2 hours later we emerge from the nascar garages with a cleaned up rebuilt caliper cobbled from a pile of non viable spares and start turning competitive laps, switching drivers every hour (rather then 2) we took turns enjoying the facility for what it was, a beautiful track we will never visit again in competition.
We finished 25th out of 52 cars.

Next race, Feb, Road Atlanta then Mar. New Orleans NOLA
