Have any of us had ITB12-027 applied? It's for oft-discussed harshness and lag issues with the 7AT. If you have it, what is your take on i t?

Here's the summary:
IF YOU CONFIRM One or more of these conditions: * Harsher than expected down shifts when coasting to a stop. * Hesitation/lag when accelerating after coasting. * Hesitation/lag or harsher than expected down shifts when coming to a stop and accelerating again (rolling stop). * Engine rev matching during moderate to heavy braking. NOTE: This is normal ASC (Adaptive Shift Control) operation that can be removed from normal drive mode, but will remain in sport mode. ACTION 1. Referto step 6 in the SERVICE PROCEDURE to confirm this bulletin applies to the vehicle you are working on. 2. If this bulletin applies, reprogram the ECM and TCM. See this bulletin for further information.

My experience since getting the ECM / TCM software updates have been very positive. The car's personality has definitely changed for the better and the car feels a lot more ‘spirited’. In a nutshell, the G37x is a LOT more fun to drive (perhaps actually too much fun . . . and I continually need to restrain myself).

Overall, the transmission is a lot more responsive, which significantly improves the throttle response and driving experience. The transmission now makes decisions faster, with firmer and more direct shifts; overall, the car is more consistent and a lot more predictable. The driver-adaptive learning was reset as part of the software update, so hopefully things won’t change materially due to the adaptive-learing 'taking over' as time passes.

Stayed tuned . . .

Exactly the problem I am having with my 7 speed AT (2012 G37x)

Nonresponsive automatic transmission (in Drive)

You hit the gas with any moderate amount of acceleration and there is a lag, and it does not downshift properly.

You need to hammer on the gas to get it to move and then you've got too much acceleration. This really is ruining my driving experience with the vehicle. (My 2005 G35 was much more responsive and fun to drive. The 2012 feels like "an old man's car".)

Thanks to this forum, I disovered the DS mode which makes up for a lot of the problems, but still it isn't right.

I called the Dealer yesterday and made an appointment for the car to be serviced. They knew exactly what I was complaining about and they said that they would need to check the car to see if it was the version with the problem. So I hope that it is and that it can be repaired so this car learns how to respond to normal acceleration.

This is the thread I started a while back about this exact same issue (I believe)

Actually, what you described in the initial post in that thread was the normal operational characteristics of D mode, as a couple of us indicated.

The one we're discussing here does not appear to apply to G25s. There's another one, ITB12-023, that is for the G25 and has a similar issue description. I've been told by an Infiniti master tech that they're not supposed to do updated based on the customer asking for the update. Some dealers will, some won't. What seems to work best is to describe having the symptoms from the ITB, and then mention that you've seen discussions of the ITB saying that it applies to those symptoms. ITB updates are definitely free if your car is in warranty.

The symptoms for 023 and 075 include harsh downshifts and lag when accelerating from coast, mostly in DS mode.
