New 720 owner

Just picked up an 86 kingcab 720 4x4. So far I love it. I am sure that over the coming months I will learn to hate and love it as I also just found a 96 Ka24De for 400.00 and a spare trans for 50.00. So let the project begin. Thanks to the wealth of information on this forum it shouldn't be to much of a pain in the a**. It runs fine right now with the z24, so I will spend these cold winter months planning and gathering supplies to make the transfer go as smoothly as possible. This is my daily driver right now so it will need to go quickly when the time comes.

First off does anyone know of a simpler way to solve the oil pan issue other than the cut and weld job that noface did?

What oil pan issue? Did the KA come out of a car? As far as I was concerned, if the engine came out of a truck the oil pan would be fine.

Anybody have any wiring tips?Really do not want to spend the extra cash on the megasquirt. Figure I will get the ECU out of the truck the engine came out of.

You are on the right track by getting the ECM and harness from the donor.

You will want to get the wiring harness out of a 240sx but not 100% sure what else you will need I swapped in a ka24e into my 720 but it was out of a 240sx. The truck harnesses are integrated with the chassis harness while the car ones are independent so way easier to wire in. Also one mistake I did was took the schematics literally and ended the ccts at the ecu as the schematic had but I misunderstood it and you only need to tap into the wire not cut them. Not too sure if that makes sense but feel free to shoot me any questions.
