I just recently purchased a 2006 G35 sedan and would love to upgrade the radio and add bluetooth. As for the radio, I have read that replacing the factory radio requires professional installation since it is attached the the A/C controls. Is this a custom install job or can the local BestBuy/Circuit City handle this? I am not technically savvy and very unsure how difficult this install would be.

What are my options in installing bluetooth in a G35 aftermarket. I have read about the Parrot products and also looked into a Garmin 660. What is the best feasible option to add bluetooth to the G!

Any guidance would be helpful.

I bought an '05 coupe and they did not add bluetooth until '06 so I bought a motorola IHF1000 bluetooth kit that I had installed in the car.

The Mic is on the pillar on the drivers side and the speaker is under the dash in the footwell on the passenger side. The brain is under the dash and the control module is right at the end of my gear shift and the heated seat controls. It is very small and looks good with the interior.

I happen to love this unit. You push the main button on the control panel and speak your commands. You can Say "Call Home" "Call Matt" or whatever. It has a voice address list of 25 names that you can keep in there. You can also say "Dial Number" its says "Numder Please" you tell it the number and it says "Dialing" It is a very sharp unit. You can cycle between the unit and your handheld cell phone at any time.

It will say "Incoming Call" if you are on the phone and someone beeps in. I have a Motorola Razor and this unit works very well with my phone. I keep the bluetooth function on my phone on at all times so it seeks bluetooth equipment that I have attached to it. So, when I start my car my cell phone automatically connects to the unit and says "Phone 1 connected". When you call the car it disconnects.

The other good thing about this unit is you can connect up to four phones to it. So, if you have a Motorola Razor and your wife has some different model phone you can connect both to the unit and the two different phones will control all of the voice controls on the hands free bluetooth unit. Like I said, it is a sharp unit and I would highly recommend it.

I got mine on E-bay for about $250 plus $150 at Cartoys to install. They hooked it up to my radio speakers so when I get a call it mutes my radio. $400 installed was money well spent to me.

As for your radio questions, I really can't help you. I like the radio so since I have no plans to change any of it I don't really pay attention to radio related things.

Anyway, I hope this helps.
