Hello all...I am new to the Infiniti world and am highly excited. I have had my car for since September and am ready to start making some changes to her. Sadly the car I bought had a clutch that was treated poorly in her first 65K miles. So I am already having to replace the clutch. My question is...do I replace the clutch with a stage 2 ACT or stay with a stock. My friend said stock because well I do not know if I'll be able to add a turbo to her in the next year and he thinks it'll be a waste. Any insight will be very helpful. I am very much a noobie to this world and am looking forward to learning. Thanks.

Welcome to NICO!

I had the same car a few years ago. Here are a few posts that might help.

Welcome to NICO

I agree with your friend

I'd also let the dealer do it.

BTW I'm still on my original clutch. I will turn 158k miles next week
Still runs like new

Still on the original clutch at 158K. That is pretty impressive. It's funny reading your signature with the 87 octane and it just being a off the lot G35. I guess you go against everything that I've read which isn't a bad thing. I am researching clutches and am not going to go all out. Just look for the most dependable one I can find and take on the project myself with a few friends. Gives me much more satisfaction doing things myself. Hope everyones weekend is going well.

I've gotten close to 200k miles on my 88 Mazda 929 and a 1980 VW Diesel Rabbit clutches and over 100k miles on clutches in two VW Beedles. The Rabbit had a oil pump failure at 246k miles and I got rid of it with an almost new replacement clutch

Been driving stick shift vehicles for over 50 years and if driven properly you should not have any clutch or transmission issues.

Aggressive driving, racing, peeling rubber, etc is going to cost you. It may be fun but there is a heavy price to pay ($$$$) which is why your vehicle needs a clutch with so little mileage.

The reason automobile manufactures recomend premium over regular is so their overhyped HP ratings can be confirmed. I've done tests between regular, mid grade 91 and premium 93 at one month intervals and saw no perceptable results so I just use regular 87 octane and save the $.30 per gallon.
I had a 2011 G37 loaner for a couple of weeks when my wiring harness was replaced at the dealer and it ran fine on 87 octane.

BTW at 157945 miles today I've used 6624.986 gallons of mostly regular 87 octane so far with a 23.840 overall MPG since purchased new on 12/31/05
I get lower MPG in winter because of the cold and whatever they add to winter gas to reduce smog.

Good luck with your G
