i am starting another CA build on my extra engine soon

i may still be able to get a nismo full counterweighted crank, theres 2 i can get, a 6 bolt pattern, or the 8 bolt pattern, identical otherwise...

the 2 quick questions, the 6 bolt pattern, with new bolts, and threadlocker should hold up as well as an 8 bolt? anyone have experience?

and will a CA18det clutch/pres plate bolt without mods to a CA20 flywheel? (im assuming yes, but need to confirm before i go this route)

yeah, beside the point tho

its a choice between an 8 bolt nismo full counterweighted crank, or an identical 6 bolt one

the 6 bolt is half the price, but i need to get a 6 bolt pattern light flywheel for it (mines already installed and its 8)

but even with the extra cash for the ca20 flywheel, its still less $$ than the 8 bolt crank.. and ive been assured that they are identical otherwise (with a micrometer)

im pretty sure i can get the clutch issue worked out, i just really need to know if anyones used a 6 bolt pattern crank before with high output ( >400ft-lbs )

will the 6 bolt handle the load? (with all new uber-grade bolts and threadlocker)

or is there an inherent weakness with the 6 bolt pattern vs the 8 (besides having less bolts)

hey, if not, ill bit it and just go ahead and do the 6 bolt then it will be done and documented for everyone to know

ill just probably never be able to run a multi plate clutch (which it might actually need at that point) .... oh well

looking mainly to Dee for this question, but if anyone else has experience please chime in

are u stroking out ur ca18? and about ur clutch question OS Gikken makes a ca20 twin plate clutch assembly! or tomei makes a lightend flywheel aswell for the ca20 6 bolt! everything swaps over from ca18 to ca20 flywheel (clutch pressur plate) its just the bolt pattern....and about it taking power i dont see why it wouldnt hold up to high output, if tomei still used the 6 bolt pattern for their ca20 stroker kit then i think it is fine!

that doesn't change the fact that the CA20 one is six-bolt
